4 Tune - 'I'll Be There' (I know that's not originally a Mariah song but this list is difficult. Their performance of this was rubbish and I hope never to hear them again)

Brenda - 'Without You' (Again not strictly Mariah's song but seen as how Brenda did Whitney the week before, I think we know this was a tribute to the other crack-free diva)

Chenai - 'Hero' (Ha! One of the songs Mariah wrote. Brilliant song RUINED by that common woman singing through her nose)

'Hero' was done in a few auditions.

 

Pop Idol (S1)

 

Rosie Ribbons - 'Whenever You Call' (It was the 'sing your idol's song' week and she did a Mariah album track. Good on you, love!)

Zoe Birkett - 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' (This was OK. I'm still annoyed about that little girl singing it in 'Love, Actually'. Shoving Mariah's best-loved tune in that dreadful film. And the fool I knew who didn't know it was a Mariah song. Horrid memories!)

 

What others have there been? I don't watch American Idol so I don't know.

This girl sang Hero a few weeks back on American Idol, and was voted out, I didn't care for it personally, can't remember her name either. :unsure:

 

I didn't catch Rosie singing Whenever You Call, I wouldn't mind hearing that as I loved Rosie. :wub:

Hmm... I remeber a woman singing Open Arms in the 2nd stage of X Factor. I know it's a cover but she sounded like she was trying to sing it like Mariah...

I remember all of those you named Tim... and they were all pretty much dire, but like Simon Cowell says no-one does Mariah like Mariah... here are a few More

Cassie - Hero

Cassie - Without (she performed both of these very well, and got lots of praise even from Simon Cowell)

 

American Idol Season5

Heather - Hero (Cant remember her surname, but she sung this and didnt do it very well, and resulted in her being knocked out.)

Cassie's audition was very good so I'm sure she coped with the Mariah material well.

 

I wonder if people will start doing 'We Belong Together'.

Actually yeah I remember Cassie singing Without You, I thought it was really good but the judges slated her. :mellow:

The juedges said she was great?! I though anyway, they slated her after singing All By Myself though

I thought they slated her... :huh:

 

I could have sworn Simon said something like "You're not Mariah, so don't try to be" or something like that and Louis said the song was too big for her, and Sharon praised her as normal. :lol:

Simon said to Cassie that Without You was a song an old woman may sing if she'd lost something, and it was too old for her I think. Then Sharon argued rightfully that you can lose something at any age...
