Lohan held over 'drink driving'

Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, police have said.

The 20-year-old was treated for minor injuries after losing control of the Mercedes she was driving and hitting a kerb, Beverly Hills police confirmed.

A small "usable" amount of a substance thought to be cocaine was also found in the car during a search, they added.

The actress, who spent time in a rehabilitation centre in January, was arrested but not held in custody.

Instead she was transferred to a hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries.

Two other people were also in the car with Lohan when the incident occurred, though no other vehicles were involved, police said.

Party girl

Lohan, who has starred in films including Mean Girls and The Parent Trap, admitted in December that she had been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Her frequent partying and drunken exits from nightclubs were a fixture of tabloid newspapers in 2006.

In July, Morgan Creek Productions chief executive James G Robinson sent a letter to the actress rebuking her for arriving late on set for the film Georgia Rule, suggesting "heavy partying" was to blame.

She later admitted she was worried by her portrayal in the press.

Okay, now can we lock this useless b**ch up alongside Paris Hilton..... <_< <_< <_<

Drunk-driving, coke-head scum..... She could've killed someone ffs, so I dont want to hear anyone defend her actions.... She's a celeb, she's rich, she can afford a cab or a private driver... No excuses.... Lock her up, suspend her licence....

its such a shame that her talent is wasted on such a $l*t. i would expect this from Paris Hilton cos lets face it. she has no talent IMO well apart from the obvious  .

i used to like Lindsay. until she started acting like that

Obviously the rehab aint working... So, it seems to me that the law getting a bit tougher on her (and other celebs..) is the only thing that'll shake her up a bit.... Christ knows, if it was any of us, we'd be in deep sh!t....
^OBVIOUSLY!!! if it was any of us, they would take us seriously as much as a clown saying that he works in a office. its pure dumbness. but if its a celeb, they are most likely scared that since they have 236846748343267843 x more money than them that they can go to the magistrate and will "demand" that something will happen to them. skn.
I actually like her lol, at least shes not doing coke and then acting like a total angel in public - she'll do it anywhere and everywhere apparnetly! Obv not defending her actions her though.
^its a good point that she doesnt exactly keep it a secret but she doesnt exactly flaunt it about (which is a good thing)
i like Lindsay but she does stupid things :( and definitely needs to get help -_-

Love Lindsay. To bad she has "gone of the rails" lately. If you ask me it shows that *duh* there is something clearly wrong with "hollywood" Is it a cry for help or something? Who knows. She is a talented girl. and when she first appeared on the scene appeared pretty sweet and hard working. Now the "celebrity" has taken over.

I hope she gets the help she needs

You're a good-hearted person Oz... I can see that by your posts.. But you cannot excuse behaviour like this mate... The facts are, that too many people such as Lohan and Hilton (and Mel Gibson just to balance things out...) seem to think that "celeb" status is a currency to excuse them from the consequences of bad behaviour... She's had "help" through the whole rehab thing... She's fukked up again, I think now it's time for punishment, and frankly, I dont care how harsh that sounds.... A kid I knew at school got killed by a drink driver, so as a result, I really dont feel to much sympathy for these people who drink and drive, especially when they are celebs and are supposedly "role models"....(ha ha...)

Exactly Scott, when she hit that curb there could have been a group of teenagers hanging around by the curb or a mother pushing a baby or whatever, no excuse for her behaviour, a period of prison is the only answer

This is her THIRD CAR ACCIDENT in the last year and a half. Who the hell keeps insuring her $180,000 Mercedes' anymore?!

And how many times has George Michael been found drugged up and slouched over his steering wheel in the middle of a London intersection. Like 8 times now?!

As Scott said, it's UNREAL that this keeps happening because these people can afford a driver!

I really do feel bad for her, she needs to be surronded by people that REALLY care for her...and it seems that even her mother would excuse this wreckless behavior with a slap on the wrist, as she parties WITH her. She needs to be locked up as that may be the only think that can snap her back into reality.

But like many others have said in this thread I am more concerned for the innocent people that she could harm with this type of behavior...

Exactly.... Her, Hilton and Michael should all be in adjoining cells if you ask me.... With LIFE bans from Driving..... People need to have it drummed into them that the ability to drive on our roads is a privilege for those who show that they are responsible enough and not an automatic right..... for the reckless.... I reckon that everyone should be forced to re-take their test every three years, seriously... It would stop people slipping into bad habits if it was an ongoing process as opposed to just being a one-off that you can bluff your way through on a good day.... Too many boy-racers, too many idiots, too many Drunk Celebs on our roads.... Time for a cull.....
