It has got panned by the critics. It got a shockingly low 7% approval rating (out of 100%) on rottentomatoes :o http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/i_know_who_killed_me/

Low blow for Lindsay flick

The Sun Online

CRITICS have been really vicious about LINDSAY LOHAN’s latest film I Know Who Killed Me.

One said it’s “in the running for worst movie of 2007”. Another singled out Lohan’s contribution: “Much like the career of its star, it opens promisingly, starts to stumble in the middle and has got so laughably ridiculous by the final act you can’t take it seriously.”

A third said: “Lohan now seems intent on destroying her career and credibility on her own terms.”

Worth a watch then . . .

Audrey Fleming (Lindsay Lohan) has a twin sister named Dakota Moss (Lindsay Lohan) that was separated at birth. Susan Flemings real baby died at birth and a junkie woman down the hall had twins, so behind Mrs. Flemings back Daniel Fleming pays the junkie to keep one of the twins. The real Aubrey was kidnapped by a serial killer (who turns out to be her piano instructor Douglas) and while he's torturing her, in another town Dakota is having the same exact things happen to her unexplainably (turns out to be they're stigmatic twins). So Dakota comes to her town to find out what is going on and is found severely injured on the side of the road so they believe its Aubrey. Dakota spends the whole movie trying to prove that she isn't Aubrey. She eventually finds out what is going on and Mr. Fleming helps her get to the killer. Douglas kills Mr. Fleming then Dakota kills Douglas and in the nick of time finds Aubrey who was buried underground and digs her out from a shallow grave.

Not my interpretation however

I downloaded this... Starts off okay enough, but as it goes on, it just gets worse and worse... A very poor thriller.... It's like someone watched a few Hitchcock or De Palma films, but just didn't get them....

^^

Well I came up with my own idea

I believe that

The majority of the movie (the parts with "Dakota") are imagined by Aubrey Fleming, while she is slowly tortured and killed by her abductor. She is suffering from shock, and is desperate for a different ending then the one she is facing at the hands of this serial killer. So, she makes one up in her head. She does not know her killer, and believes that the only person she could think of who was out to get her is the piano teacher, so she gets Dakota to kill him and is eventually saved at the end, while the real Aubrey is actually suffering alive
