The singer has also acquired rights to music by Shakira, Beck and Bjork in a deal with Viacom for his company. Jackson already holds the rights to the copyright of The Beatles, and is proud of his new accomplishment, Famous Music LLC. "This is a milestone event for Sony/ATV Music Publishing," he said in a statement. "The diverse collection of songs in this catalogue range from timeless classics to contemporary hits, and I am pleased to add the acquisition of Famous Music to Sony/ ATV." Jackson, who owns the rights to The Beatles' publishing, has bought Famous Music - started in 1928 - from Viacom for an estimated $370m. The deal also gives Jackson the rights to Moon River, plus the music to films such as The Godfather, Beverly Hills Cop, Braveheart and Forrest Gump.
