Posted June 2, 200718 yr I hope not. By flop, I mean outside top 3. That would be their worst chart position since A Million Love Songs. Currently only number 4300 on Amazon based on pre-release sales. Airplay not picking up like previous singles (because it is a slow song). Long song. I assume there is a radio edit. Very much a Gary Barlow solo effort. When is the download available? And when should it start charting? Weren't the other singles charting at this stage? Will Asda no longer selling singles affect it? I would have thought thought the Take That demographic was strong among Asda shoppers.
June 2, 200718 yr I hope not. Will Asda no longer selling singles affect it? I would have thought thought the Take That demographic was strong among Asda shoppers. I'm not sure it will do as good as Shine and certainly not as good as Patience. Reach Out would have been my choice as a single. At £3.77 per single - I've never bought one at Asda in my life - not when Tesco were selling singles between £1.99 - £2.49. Having said that, my local Tesco (and others I presume) has stopped selling singles also. Hand on heart - I'd be surprised if it made the top five - but I'd be happy if album sales were pushed up by the release. Kathy
June 2, 200718 yr I've said it before and I'll say it again, not going with 'Reach Out' for this single is a foolish decision.
June 3, 200718 yr I can imagine with the album having sold 1.5 million already, the next two singles won't do hugely well anyway :( Which is a shame, because it ruins their single history just because their album has done so well!
June 3, 200718 yr well i can see it going top 5 at most and i would ve choosen "reahc out" instead as the 3rd single
June 3, 200718 yr I think it's going to do quite badly to be honest. I think #9-#11 and quite a rapid drop. However as Andre said it doesn't really make a difference because the album has done so well. ^_^
June 3, 200718 yr Author Their promotion seems to be lacking around the release. If it had coincided with the televising of the Diana Concert it would do better. I wish they had released A million Love Songs with Leona. Only because it would be a sure number one.
June 3, 200718 yr Do music reviews ever make a difference to a song - because the Mirror gave IWFL a dreadful review on Friday. Having said that - it got a good one in the NOTW today. Silly question really when I think about it because the Mirror gave BW a c**p review too and the album didn't do too bad. See in the album chart BW has gone up a couple more places and UC has gone up to within the top 50. Kathy
June 12, 200718 yr I think its got a good chance of being number 1 next week when it's released physically
June 12, 200718 yr I think its got a good chance of being number 1 next week when it's released physically Hi Anna Just popped over from GBTT's. I wish I was as optimistic as you - I'd be happy if it made top ten at the rate its going. Wish they'd do just a little promo on it! Kathy
June 13, 200718 yr Author I am thinking outside top 20. Very little airplay, not best song choice, song too slow for radio, no promotion, no Asda. They are asking for a flop. And when Take That do well Robbie does bad. When Take That do bad, Robbie does well. It is the Yin and Yang of Robbie Williams and the rest of Take That. Prepare for Robbie to hit the top of the charts again.
June 13, 200718 yr I think the single will reach about no.7 because they have a strong enough fanbase who will buy the single no matter whats released. But I do think it will go Top 10 and drop very fast! :( 7-15-28-39-OUT But, the album has sold sooo much that I don't think anything they release will be massive apart from reach out, when thats released as the 4th single, that will definetly go top 5 :D So overall, lets hope for top 10 ^_^

By the way - does anyone know what the hell this means (yes I do know what to embargo means - but what about the rest of it)? Thisispop posted this on the Chart Chat "Take That - I'd Wait For Life has been (temporarily) embargoed - you have to buy the album to get the track. To avoid losing sales until next week's Physical single release" Kathy Edited June 13, 200718 yr by kathyp
June 13, 200718 yr who ambargoe ..i have no idea what that mean lol but i think it''ll go top 5 hopefully a no.1 hit would be good though
June 13, 200718 yr Author What it means is somebody important in their managment chain has woken up to the possibility this single will flop, so they have stopped making downloads available, ordering companies to stop selling them. Not sure how practicable that is in reality. So more download sales will be made next week to boost their chart position. Maybe they will be forced to do some last minute promotion. GMTV and other shows maybe? Just guessing.
