Take That - Back For Good (2 weeks)

http://www.poplife.info/Bilder/906288.jpg

Take That's classic song Back For Good is thier only JTT #1 from their classic period. This showed the maturity of the band and the video of TT in the rain has been imitated many many times since.

Snap feat Summer – The First, The Last, Eternity (1 week)

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000002VU9.01._SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg

The other Snap! song featuring the amazing vocals of Summer, The First The Last Eternity is a classy summery (!) dance tune. I  it!

Oasis - Some Might Say (1 week)

http://img.mp3sugar.com/album/cover150_22003.jpg

Oasis' first official chart #1, Some Might Say was the first Oasis song I actually bought! This was a turning point in their career, and made them go supernova. Without champagne!

Livin' Joy - Dreamer (1 week)

1995 was splendid for dance songs, and Livin' Joy's Dreamer is an absolute classic!

The second and best top tunes #1 for the Nightcrawlers, Surrender Your Love brings back lots of happy hot summery memories.

The famous Matt #1 thread has arrived :o Some great choices so far, especially the Blur songs, Oasis songs, Corona and Baby D :w00t:

Pulp - Common People (7 weeks)

http://www.mlp.cz/space/OpatrilP/Pulp/Common_People.daytime.jpg

This song changed my life. Up until this point I hadn't quite connected with anything musically, and the 3 minutes that I watched this on TOTP in May 1995 made me fall totally and completely in love with Pulp. The whole britpop/90s scene followed for me, and voila! I was a normal 19 year old at last  This is the song of the decade for me, and probably ranks as one of if not the best song I have ever heard.

Supergrass - Alright (3 weeks)

http://c-i.hitflip.de/B00000748Q.03.MZZZZZZZ.jpg

Supergrass are such cheeky chappies! This Monkees-esque song is just so damn summery, chirpy and catchy. This made me buy their excellent debut album, I Should Coco, which revealed Supergrass as a new wave punk band (kind of..).

The Connells - 74'75 (2 weeks)

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000000GPT.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpg

This gentle ballad is, for some unknown reason, one of my favourite tracks of 95. I am still unsure as to why I love this song so much to this day. A perplexing mystery to be sure.

Blur - Country House (2 weeks)

http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/8/89/200px-Country_House_CD_single.jpg

How well I remember the infamous Blur vs Oasis battle. I have always preferred Country House over the rather bland Roll With It, so two weeks at the top of my chart is justified. The song has not aged well at all though :(

De’Lacy - Hideaway (3 weeks)

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000084FT.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpg

Listening to this and closing my eyes, I can just imagine a hot baking summers day. Ahhhh! My favourite dance song ever.

Pulp - Mis-Shapes (3 weeks)

Pulp - Sorted For E's & Wizz (2 weeks)

http://www.mlp.cz/space/opatrilp/Pulp/Mis-shapes.jpg http://www.rockreviews.net/albums/eswizz.jpg

An amazing double A side from Pulp. Mis Shapes is a song about how the geeky will take over the world from the cool kids (hurrah!!) and Sorted for Es and Wizz is about how you could wake up and find you have left an important part of your brain somewhere in a field in Hampshire.

Coolio ft LV – Gangsta’s Paradise (1 week)

http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B00005GSMU.03.MZZZZZZZ.jpg

Can I really like a rap record? Yes, I can when it is this good. This great track and transatlantic #1 far and away eclipsed the film it was from (Dangerous Minds) and was based on Stevie Wonder's Pastime Paradise.

Oasis - Wonderwall (4 weeks)

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00000IBAJ.01._SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg

The ultimate Oasis song and absolute classic. Almost Lennon-esque in its genius.

Blur - The Universal (1 week)

http://www.blur-unofficial.com/images/discography/singles/theuniversal_large.jpg

Standout single from The Great Escape, the video for The Universal has more than echoes of A Clockwork Orange.

Pulp - Disco 2000 (2 weeks)

http://www.mlp.cz/space/OpatrilP/Pulp/Disco_2000.1.jpg

My Christmas #1 for 1995, Disco 2000 is a wonderful tale of how Jarvis wanted to meet up with a girl he fancied in the year 2000. Was it strange when he was fully grown? Was she there by the fountain just down the road?

Totally steal my thunder :( :P A good couple of Blur songs, but i never really liked Pulp :(

Well, maybe do slow and fast bits like I am going to. That gives people time to comment (like I will while I am at work tomorrow :P)

Pulp

I prefer Disco 2000 to Common People, but still two great songs ^_^.

Wonderwall is overated :( I hate it when people say its Oasis's best -_-

Excellent so far ^_^

Some excellent songs there...OT Quartet, Boo Radleys, Alex Party and esp N-Trance though I think that the 2001 Rob Searle remix is better than the original

The Bluetones - Slight Return (2 weeks)

http://www.bluetones.info/discography/images/slight_return.jpg

The debut hit from the Bluetones is a bit of an indie classic and is reminiscent of the Stone Roses at their best. Sadly, this was by miles their best song.

Radiohead – Street Spirit (Fade Out) (3 weeks)

http://musicmoz.org/img/editors/againstdemons/streetspirit.jpg

Highlight of The Bends album, Street Spirit has possibly one of the best videos ever.

Babylon Zoo – Spaceman (2 weeks)

http://www.yle.fi/vega/bilder/hundrahits/Babylon-Zoo-Spaceman-83740.jpg

Gets two weeks at the top not for the crappy vocal from the arrogant prick Jaz Mann, but for the hyper bit at teh beginning and end of the song, found on the Levis advert.

^^ Hahah! This youtube vid just has 6 mins of the speeded up bit! :w00t:

Oasis – Don’t Look Back In Anger (2 weeks)

Rather athemic Oasis tune, and the one that caught them when they were at the absolute peak of their career. Sally is still waiting :(

Pulp - Something Changed (2 weeks)

http://www.mackers.com/pulpworld/pulp_something2.jpg

The fourth and final single from Different Class, Something Changed is a soft gentle ballad, and a bit of a change from their other more uptempo songs. Released after the Michael Jackson incident.

Manic Street Preachers - A Design For Life (2 weeks)

http://blogimg.goo.ne.jp/user_image/70/06/41cbf8cdd4e7591a381d8e6a18e82bf8.jpg

Comeback singles dont come bigger or more athemic than this! Libraries give us power.....

Kylie N Trance Corona my faves so far  bit before my time i was 4 in 1994  My fave Coolio was that Ill C U When U Get There  did you like that one

Some very similar #1s to what I've got.

I'll be rolling out my Personal Chart #1s of the 1990s when I have a fortnight off work in July
