Formed by David Gates in 1969, they had reasonable success in the US but limited in the UK.They wrote very melodic songs like, Make it with you, If, Baby I'm a want you, Everything I own, Guitar man and Lost without your love. Their compilation album "Sound of Bread" topped the UK charts for 3 weeks.

 

"If" went to number 1 sung spoken :lol: by Telly Savalas, Boy George took " Everything I own" to number 1.

 

Anyone like their music?

Must admit The Sound of Bread is in my collection, I liked some of their songs.

Make It With You is a very nice song. ^_^

very m.o.r. nicey picey songs.... which actually were very good! yep, i like bread, certainly the best of that genre. (much better then the awful dr hook).
