Posted June 2, 200718 yr The massive hit School's out was one of the anthem's of the 70's. Other hits included Elected, Hello Hurray and the album Billion Dollar Babies. A long gap before his 1989 hit Poison charted. His stage performances were massively successful if gory. Anyone like his music or his stage act.
June 3, 200718 yr imho one of the early 70's best acts... 'schools out' was deffo a teen anthem, classic. i liked 'elected' and 'poison'. i think though that he always be seen as a pop/rock act rather then serious rocker... wont he?
June 3, 200718 yr If you look at stuff like "Welcome To My Nightmare", he was pretty Avant Garde in his day, and I would make as much of a case for calling him "Art/Theatrical Rock" in his 70s heyday as anything by Genesis or Roxy Music... So yeah, I'd call Alice a credible, serious Rock Star anyday... Even his more commercial stuff like "Poison" or "Hey Stupid" is not bad at all in comparison to the sort of bilge that the likes of Bon Jovi inflict on us....
