Just before Grease Is The Word tonight there was an advert for Guys and Dolls in Edinburgh. Did anyone else see it?

I don't know if it was shown again because I was at a friend's, dinner was ready and the TV went off for the rest of the evening.

It may only have been shown in Scotland. It was for Edinburgh.

They used the poster of Shaun and Darius dressed in character and a voiceover, focusing on different parts of it, including the photos of Shaun and Darius and their names scrolled across the screen.

I'm sorry, I just wasn't expecting it and I was dumbstruck, I really didn't take in what was said. I think it said Guys and Dolls was a West End production and was prior to Broadway and then went on to say where and when and mentioned Shaun and Darius.

But I didn't like the fake American accent of the voiceover.

Nigel was reprising Sky at the Mayflower in Southampton just about a month ago. He says he loves the role and keeps being drawn back to it. I don't blame him, it's a great part. He did the Birmingham leg of the tour too, I think.

Was that when you saw it, do you think?

possibly, it was a month or so ago, think I posted about it when I saw it. makes sense. it just gave me the imporession that if I hadnt known Nigel was only doing part of th etour that he was doing the whole tour. LOL

Publicity for Guys and Dolls tends to use footage from an interview with the WE producer - either clips with Ewan or with Nigel.

Pity, because comparing like for like, Darius knocks spots off Ewan in the Havana scene and edges out Nigel's Luck Be A Lady because he's a far better singer and matches Nigel's dance routine.

I used to be frustrated that the stuff they showed from Chicago on TV progs etc. always had that red haired Velma, never any of the cast who were performing - you'll see the clip I mean on the Millionaire Manor BBC thing.

Drat - saw it again but couldn't record it.

It was on between Corrie and Heartbeat.

It starts with footage of the opening dance routine and then Sit Down You're Rocking The Boat before showing the pictures of Shaun and Darius from the big coloured poster, not the one with the black and white pics.
