Posted June 3, 200718 yr 'Never Again' comes hot on the heels of news that former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson was forced to re-record her latest album after record bosses felt it simply wasn't good enough. It is an angsty, raging rock track that may prove a departure for many from what they expect to hear from Clarkson, not a singer noted for her hardcore leanings. Luckily for Clarkson, she has the voice to carry off this kind of music, and this break-up inspired song has so much power and anger behind it that you may be slightly blown away by the force. Reportedly influenced by Pat Benatar in the creation of this song, at times it can sound a little too Evanescence-y for comfort, but thankfully Clarkson just about pulls 'Never Again' off with her throaty, aching sound. **** | 4 STARS
June 5, 200718 yr It is my least favorite song from her... after Before Your Love, but it is still great!
June 5, 200718 yr Im really liking this, I dont know why its getting so much negative publicity, its just a bit rockier than some of her past tracks.
June 5, 200718 yr Author i think Breakaway started to show off her more rocky side. expecially Addicted. the success of Because Of You probably pushed her to write more songs. BOY should have done a lot better than it did
June 5, 200718 yr In terms of sales it did, its her biggest UK seller to date, and her 2nd biggest in the USA. The thing that harmed BOY in the states was that buy time it was released the album was already 4xPlatinum. Its her biggest radio hit to date worldwide, being one of the most played songs of all time... If it had been relaced when Since U Been Gone had [with SUBG being the 1st single, and Breakaway being later on] I personally beleive she would have had at least a top5 with it.
June 11, 200718 yr think its going to get to either 6,7 or 8. still hoping it can scrape top 5 though
