It was three years ago tonight, by the day, not the date (26th was the date) when the Dive In Tour kicked off at Rhyl.

I recall Monster (Sue) being there, Heidi, Aubergenie were in the front row and there were plenty of mad fans and quite a few gay boys there for our man

Aubergenie and I had travelled from Aberystwyth where she was at Uni at the time to deliver the BQT (The Big Quilty Thing) The National Tour Banner to the start of the tour and I was supposed to see Darius at 6.15pm I got there at 6.30pm and missed the appointment due to an accident near Wrexham. I had driven at 95 mph on the A55 in the rain trying to make up the time The fastest i have ever driven in my whole life!

Keith the merchanisding man was going to be the guardian of the BQT for the tour and I met up with him whilst Abs and Heidi were in at the gig. He had been let down by the people coming to help him sell the merchandise and so I offered to help him As a thank you he let me use his AAA pass to go into the auditorium where I heard at least six songs and was able to start "Phone Homes" to Hazey, Tracy Bagpuss, and Becks B.

After the gig, when Abs and Heidi had come out we were able to have long chats with a lot of the people who wanted to know what the gig was like what the merchandise was like (Poster - shaggable!!) and we tried for a ride around Rhyl to see if we could find him No luck, but on the Sunday, Heidi did meet him

All in all, it was a memorable kick off to one of the most exciting months of my life. During the tour I went to Belfast, Cardiff (where I met my Pop Idol at last) my home gig at Bristol (front row centre!!) and then to Hammersmith for the last night. En route I had the Time of My Life and I shall never ever forget it. On the anniversaries I shall post about the other gigs ... but thats Rhyl for the time being

What gigs did you go to? Whats your best memory

mm, best memory.

has to be Oxford, near the front, got a blown kiss from Darius and a point when I looked as if it wasnt me he was blowing a kiss to.

He was so close and the theatre was so small the gig was just electric, and I got to leave my little tokens on the front of the stage, where he stood astride them as he sang the encore

and after leaving seeing the big gold bus parked in the road we decided to go to the front of the theatre, and wait, Darius came out the front door and was surrounded by fans, have to say I was overcome by being so close(it was the first time I had seen Dairus so very close) and couldn't resist putting my hand up to his chest, he didnt even notice that i was touching him or he didnt acknowledge or push my hand off so I was running my hand from his chest down and round the side of his waist under his jacket as he slowely passed by, he was so cool and firm, have to say although I have met him since then, that memory will stay forever

Am sad to say the only gig I was able to get to on that tour was the Cardiff gig. Could have gone to Bristol too but the only tickets left were right at the back on the balcony so didnt bother! Didnt know any Darius fans at that point so went along with a friend who quite liked him. She was totallly blown away by him though and how totally amazing he is live. The gig was totally amazing and at the end of the show left me wanting more!!

I first saw the Dive In Tour in Belfast - between meeting Boo and Hazey for the first time and the whole jumping off stage (and yes, I still have that bottle of water!!) and managing to get backstage afterwards - it was a fabby-doody night! :D

A few days later it was off to Glasgow where I saw all 3 shows and met Mr & Mrs Danesh and the ever so adorable Cyrus.

In Belfast Boo said to us 'you should come to London' so the next day in work I popped onto Ticketmaster and pulled up two front row tickets. I immediately snapped them up and informed Ian that he would in-fact be going to London! London was a great night for many reasons - Penny: what can I say?!! I just remember Ian and I looking at each other and screaming "IT'S PENNY!!!!" Afterwards of-course there was the party - the laughs, the dancing, the staying up all night. Great memories!

Here's to the Dive In Tour 2003! :hic:

It was 30th April 2003 and I boarded the plane with Hazey, wondering what we would find at the other end

Arriving in Belfast City Centre we checked out the Waterfront .. what a building! We mooched around the city for a while and discovered that Belfast International closed during the night if there were no flights and there were none .. so we were technically homeless ...

We got ourselves ready for the event and made our way to the Waterfront. I rang Louise and by chance the taxi was bringing them to the Waterfront. I was on the top floor in the bar and I could see them getting out of the taxi with a big leather bag .. the BQT!

Meeting them downstairs was just SOOOOOOOOOO exciting! We had spoken to JanB earlier but here they were, and the welcome was just amazing, like long lost relatives. We hung the BQT on the railings to the top floor and everyone was oooh ing and ahhhh ing at it. Then the support band was on and everyone disappeared. Hazey went to the loos and said to me "I will give you until I get back to think of a way to get to meet Darius ..." Whilst she was in the toilets, I spotted a khaki parka coat with a blond head sticking out of it Next to him was another khaki coloured coat ... with a mohawk on top It was Karl and Spencer. I took my courage in both hands and walked up to them. I said "Hello .. you are Karl arent you ... yes, he said, how do you know ... from the Website ... Im Trishiboo, I made the BQT thats going around the tour .... From then on it was chat chat chat chat ...

Soon it was time for the gig. We took the lift to the top .. arghhh not good for two people like me and Haze who hate heights, but hey, we were going to watch Darius!!

What a gig. What Id already seen a couple of days before at Rhyl, but on a better stage, with better sound and the whole place totally rocking for our Man. Lou got a kiss when he jumped out into the crowd ... whoa!! After the gig was over we congregated in the foyer I could see him through a glass panel in the door ... so near yet so far. Lou had gone backstage and Zooey had got the BQT signed "Diving in at the Waterfront 30 April 03" I couldnt face the crush so I sat there, feeling a bit glum. All of a sudden my phone went off "Rushes" the ringtone. The name said "LouDanesh" so I answered it "Hi Lou .. whats up" A deep dark voice said "Hello ..." Immediately I knew who it was ... "Hello .. is that you .. " I said "Aye, its me ... " My mind raced "OMFG ...." I took a deep breath and chatted to him for what seemed ages. He asked me how I was and I said tired because Id not been to bed since coming off nights at 7am that morning ... and he told me off!! It was just amazing. I asked him if it were possible to meet him to show him the BQT and properly tell him the stories behind it he said , yes, so I said "See you in Cardiff!!" and he said yes, in Cardiff .. bye ...

I could have fallen to bits right there and then. Everyone crowded around me wanting to know what he said .. I said, Sorry, its private and then proceeded to tell Haze, Lou, Zooey and the gang! Well, they were family!!

Just after that Karl and Spence came out and sat talking with us for ages. They told us to go next door to see if the hotel could let us have room which we did Some St Tropez tanned girls followed us thinking we were going to be with the band ... but it turned out they were elsewhere!!

We said our goodbyes to Lou and Zooey and co and stayed at the Hilton next door. Next morning, 1st May 2003 was election day and i was a candidate I had to get back so we got up early and off we went to the Airport

A trip never to be forgotten .....

Belfast .............the day I started down the slippery slope. I knew I shouldn't have approached that strange bunch with the BQT but I always rush in where angels fear to tread.

Only kidding! Meeting other Darius fans is always a great pleasure. It's so amazing especially meeting people I've chatted to for ages over the net and meeting up at various gigs and of course the BBC signings.

Gosh .. with our enforced absence we have missed severa "Anniversaries" including MINE My Darius Anniversary was 10th May .... a hug and kisses in the bar at the Hilton in Cardiff and a feeling that stardust was sprinkled on us all ...

Three years ago tonight was the Bristol gig. Arriving in a stretch Limo, retrieving the BQT meeting Venitia Hibbert, she got it signed in its Birthplace, sitting front row centre and having so much eye contact, smiles, giggles, "full frontals" (hehehe!!) poor old Hazey nearly had her eye out. Steve bounding on stage yelling "hello girls" Karl waving sticks at us, Spencer doing a wave from the other side of the stage with the neck of his guitar and the best bit of all. When the GITMs were not giving him the reaction he wanted, he went through the motions with them and sang the main bit of it to me .... holding my gaze with those magical eyes ... in the end I said in lip reading style "love you" and he broke into the most amazing smile I have ever seen him do .... for me .... I cannot describe the feeling but it will live with me forever.

Darius come home and do it again darlin ....

And to think I wasn't originally going to come. I bought the ticket off someone who had got better seats (if it was anyone here, apologies, I have COMPLETELY forgotten who it was). I think I got the best seat in the house though :cheer:

You had the best deal of the year my girl ...

I think everyone connected with the blue and white ribbons, the BQT, the "No Darius, Thank YOU" signs and who knew you just FREAKED when he got you on stage and were FLABBERGASTED at the snog ....

THUD!!!!

I think I got the best seat in the house though :cheer:

You did! I'll vouch for that. I was upstairs and had a very good overview.

Hammersmith was the last of my 6 concerts and later everyone laughed when I mentioned the 'new' lighting. I'd never seen it in all its glory because when I'm near that stage I somehow don't notice the lighting or even the people, other than Darius.

It was brilliant to actually take in everything and especially the way Darius used the stage and gelled so well with the band, Pete and Denie, all of whom complemented him superbly.

24th - Oxford and the second time I'd just missed Darius by a whisker.

In Belfast I'd come down in the lift in the hotel with Deni Lew but unfortunately she was the last of the band to leave and I just missed the rest, including Darius. The next day, I met all the band but Darius had flown out right after the concert.

In Oxford I had to meet up with my friends who gave me the lift and as we came back round the big gold tour bus was just drawing away.

aww, we were on our way to the central carkpark - when I spotted that tour bus parked opposite the theatre and had to convince my companions that it could well be Darius'! hence we went back to the theatre front door, and low and behold -

25th Hammersmith.

The night I paid for a room I didn't use for more than a couple of hours. I didn't sleep at all.

First there was the parrrrty and then a second little soiree with Becks, Ally and Pat then breakfast with Saltern and Georgina, train to Reading and then another train back home. I didn't feel tired, I was on such a high.

I never made it to the Dive In tour :( God I hope he does another one, I will attend as many gigs as I can!
