Another Glasgow success story for reality TV, Darius came third behind Gareth Gates and Will Young.

 

 

Colourblind was self-penned and went to No1, and his album was produced by U2 producer Steve Lillywhite. He is now a well-respected actor in London's west end, and has played Billy Flynn in Chicago.

 

 

Incidentally Hayley Evetts who was in pop idol with Darius is to appear as a contestant on the next X factor. Apparently she has been axed from playing Sandy in Grease after one and a half years to make way for the winners of the Grease programme currently on tv so the Sun say!!

I really liked Hayley. I hope she's not makng a mistake by going in for a third talent ontest.

Usual tabloid half-truth. Hayley isn't being axed for the winners of GITW - it's the opposite, a new production is opening up in the West End especially for the winners. In fact, I'd say the people getting the rough end of the stick are the full companies in the musicals closing to create theatre space for GITW and Joseph.

If the producers have decided not to keep the tour going as well, that's a separate decision.

 

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea for Hayley to go into X Factor - the media will drag up Popstars, Pop Idol, all her various boyfriends, her brief career as a TV presenter etc. They'll give her no credit at all for the hard work, talent and skills she's put into her theatre work. But then nobody thought it was a good idea for Darius to enter PI so maybe I'm wrong.

mm, it may be a show too far, but it says she has nothing to lose. I cant see why she doesnt just audtion for a new part like everyone else.
