If you've been to the indie area you might have seen people going on about klaxon's cover of the Planet Perfect/Grace record and how they think it should not be classed as rave. so would they be better off releasing an altern8 cover instead? Are Altern 8 grrrrrrrrrr8??? or are they just rave for a bunch of' masterb8rz' who drive round in a pimped up Ford Escort Est8????

Altern 8 were p***-takers. They took classic house tunes such as Strings of Life and 2 Hype, stole the main riffs and added new stabs and breaks to suit.

 

The sound was fantastic though.

 

Their one and only album still changes hands on e-bay for a surprisingly large amount.

Strings Of Life, the Soul Central/Rhythim is Rhythim tune. yeah i know that (re-vocalised) one from a couple of years back, actually do like that. and obv the orig instrumental versh is better (worth getting on one of those dodgy £6 6cd dance comp where 95% of stuff is not kosher stuff :lol: )

 

and p***-taker in pop always good thing.

I thought they were hilarious tbh... :lol: And despite their stuff obviously being commercial, it doesn't hold up too bad, certainly a lot better than rubbish like Snap or 2 Unlimited....

then again compared to Cascada, 2 unlimited's No Limit sounds like a modern recording even more than the versh i've got on the cheesy eurodvd (2.3 remix). However Cascada gets played as part of the playlist, 2 unlimited as part of the really really bad records weekend, now if they flipped the two records around would probs be exactly same kinda vibe (well i guess only if they got rid of that dude rapping)

 

and talking of the Cascada album in a retrostylee...
