The debut album's is much more impressive.

I apologise I got its run confused with the US one earlier on. :P It was reissued many times the last week it spent on the chart was in the year 2000. :o

do you have any sales numbers for the singles?

or any worldwide album sales?

I can only find what's avaliable on UKMix tbh. They have loads and loads of chart information up for years back so it takes a long time to trawl through it all but I will try and find stuff. :D

Well I can find that 'Garbage' has sold over 4,000,000 WW.

Not sure about the other 3...

UK

Version 2.0 sold 309,000 copies in 1998 and 174,000 in 1999, it may have sold more in other years but it doesn't show up in any Year End Top 200s so I'll put its total at 483,000 for now. ^_^

Garbage sold 430,000 in 1996, 86,000 in 1999. It has probably sold in other years but very little as it isn't on any Year End Top 200s so I will put it's total at 516,000 for now. ^_^

Beautifulgarbage sold 106,000 copies.

US Album Sales

Garbage: 2,268,370

Version 2.0: 1,649,638

BeautifulGarbage: 380,258

Bleed Like Me: 267,000

Canadian Album Sales

Garbage :: 2x Platinum (200k)

Version 2.0 :: Platinum (130k)

beautifulGarbage :: Gold (80k)

Thanks. Really they have sold a lot, they are more of an album band :D

As for what you said before, I made a mistake I meant the first album's chart run was better, I din't know why I put Version 2 :lol:

  • Author

Well the first two did very well but the last two not so good tbh. :(

Bleed Like Me was a fantastic album too although BG is my least favourite of the 4.

Queer, Cherry Lips and Sex Is Not The Enemy should have all been top 10 singles at the very least. :(

This may help :D :

Worldwide sales:

Garbage - 5 Million

Version 2.0 - 5 Million

BeautifulGarbage - 2.3 Million

Bleed Like Me - 1.7 Million :(

I don't really understand how bands start well and then fade away :(

People get bored. :( Something is only IN and popular for a few months. It's either overhyped and shoved in everybody's faces like Mika or James Blunt or people just don't seem to be interested anymore like Natasha Bedingfield etc.

Garbage are like Placebo and other acts from the late 90s though that had massive success but just faded this decade. :(

I'd say Placebo have built more of a worldwide following since they started and are more popular now on a worldwide scale, in the UK they're nowhere near as big as they once were though.

Kylie went floparama in the 90s though but she came back :o And her comeback record this year will be huge anyway. :P

I found 'Stupid Girl' + 'Milk' sales anyway - they were in the top 200 of 1996. ^_^
