It's bad to say the least. :(

1997 + 1998 were just huge for single sales. :o The #11 sold 28,000 copies one week.

The last 2 albums didnt do well at all wich is a shame. I thought Version 2 was there biggest seller. Im supried its not becuase I personally think its their best album
Only top 200 :(

I don't understand Kylie's career TBH

What dont you understand ?

Thanks. Really they have sold a lot, they are more of an album band :D

As for what you said before, I made a mistake I meant the first album's chart run was better, I din't know why I put Version 2

When Butch, Steve and Duke decided to start the project they intended to be just a studio band. But they became also a great live band (watch any other show, especially from BLM era to see what I mean).

Well the first two did very well but the last two not so good tbh. :(

Bleed Like Me was a fantastic album too although BG is my least favourite of the 4.

BG was the low point of their career. It was too different from their first two albums and too POPPY. Also BG has too much ballads.

Also they have bad luck (the first single Androgyny was released on 9/11 days :( )

I don't really understand how bands start well and then fade away :(

Because the "surprise effect" is gone...

Because Garbage (in particular) is too 90s style (this is my fave musical period); compare Garbage with another rock bands from today (the Killers, Arcade Fire, Razorlight) -- too different! <_<

I thought the same but think about that...

BUT: the albums weren't released all in the same time. There are some gaps between releases: the first album has 3 years more than V2.0 to sell more (first album: 1995; second album: 1998). Easy! ;)

In fact it's a great achievement for Version 2.0 to have almost the same sales as S/T because it had a shorter time to sell almost the same as Garbage debut album.

What dont you understand ?

How she did so well in the 80's and faded in the 90's but came back in the 00's but I think in the 90's she began to fade when Stock Aiken and Waterman split

Quite simply she became very very uncool. And to like her publically was a bad thing even though some of her best material was released then. Thats why she tried to chnage her image and musically style (whic sadly failed). Its wasnt until she went back to what she was good at, that she again became publiclly accepted again.

Are we keeping a chart run for both countries? Absolute Garbage down 16 to 27 this week.

Yes

Since Garbage isn't so popular in US judging only by charts we don't need two pinned threads just for that. Just imagine when Shirley will release her solo album what we're gonna do? 21 pinned threads for G & Shirl'? :D

Well we can add in 13,500 first week sales for AG and its 2nd week position of 27 ^_^

Absolute Garbage:

#11 UK

#68 US

#23 Australia

#43 Canada

#23 Australia

#42 Canada

#22 Ireland

#79 Italy

#77 Switzerland
