Was it one of their songs that got you interested? Word of mouth? A Friend maybe introduced you?

I remember I liked a number of their songs in the late 90s/eary 00s but I watched the TV show HEX in 2004 time and #1 Crush was used as the theme tune and it sort of reawakened a new interest in this band for me. Then of course 'Bleed Like Me' came out and I collected their whole back catalogue of albums as well as downloading all the BSides and shiz and gearing up my Garbage knowledge. ^_^

Hex was how I discovered them. ^_^ Crush is an amazing song, then I heard Why Do You Love Me and I've heard not a lot since tbh.
I can't really remember but I think it was back when they had just started and I was loving their first couple of songs :D

'Stupid Girl' was an anthem for me during the 90s, and of course I heard 'The World Is Not Enough' as the soundtrack to the James Bond movie. :P

I'd say around the time Bleed Like Me was released, I bought that and loved it, and as a result bought their other 3 albums and they're now my second favourite band.

Bleed Like Me was truly a masterpiece. <3

Seems to be the driving force behind a lot of people's obsesession.

My 2nd fave band too behind Le Ev

I was hooked up the moment I heard/watched Only Happy When It Rains on tv... it was looong time ago but I remember the moment quite vividly. I was watching MTV (yes.. back in the day I used to watch MTV :) ). They had this short show '3 from 1' and they played 'Vow', 'Queer' and 'Only Happy When It Rains'. OHWIR was the one that caught my ear :) I loved the whole vide of the song and together with the video it was just a perfect match. Of course, Shirley made me a huge impression. She was so fierce and provocatve it was just impossible not to notice her.

For some reason I didn't buy an album or single (probably because I was just 12/13 years old and I didn't have the money to do so). Then 'Push it' came out and I heard it on the radio. I had no idea that it was a Garbage song but I was amazed by the sound of it. Then I saw the video on the TV and was blown away by it (it's still my favourite musis video of all time). I realised that the song was by the same band who had released Only Happy When It Rains and Stupid Girl. I immediately decided to by the album and so I did... It is all one big obsession since then :)

Garbage as a whole has intoduced me to a whole different music genres comapred to the one I used to listen to (I used to listen to teeny bopper c**p before them). They have formed my taste in music so to say. And that is why they will always be a very special band for me.

Knew them VAGUELY through The World Is Not Enough <3

Then got into Why Do You Love Me big-style and so bought the BLM album :D

well in a random thread I asked for music to help me train for my first half marathon ...... and ossy sent me "run baby run"

and then being an absolute sweetheart he sent me "bleed like me" - a real Cd through the post - from Oz to England :o

(ok don't tell him i told you - he likes his "bad boy" image but he is a big fluffy teddy bear really)

... and then I was hooked ... and had to buy more CDS and am now very hooked!!!!!!

Back when the Adam Sandler movie Big Daddy came out and i heard 'When I Grow Up' i thought it was ace then i heard 'Special' and was hooked
The first time I heard off Garbage in 96 or 97 when I was playing the game Gran Turismo2 the song I Think I'm Paranoid came out there and I love it. :D http://www.wallpaperbase.com/wallpapers/celebs/shirleymanson/shirley_manson_2.jpg
Your right it is spell wrong I did not see that thanks for catching that  but I got this pic from this web site Wall paperbase.com :hithead: http://www.wallpaperbase.com/wallpapers/celebs/shirleymanson/shirley_manson_3.jpg
The 007 song.. when I heard that I thought it was so damn sexy.

My first contact with Garbage music was when I heard "The World Is Not Enough" on the radio (and I saw the movie too!)

I was impressed by the amazing voice of that singer but I didn't pay attention too much because I wasn't interested by music in general. I'm pretty sure I heard "Stupid Girl" or "I Think I'm Paranoid" before TWINE but I didn't know about this band.

The real "stoke of luck" was when I discovered the song "Run Baby Run": those great guitars and THAT VOICE really made me to search for more Garbage :P

Imagine how surprised I was when I found so many fantastic songs; this band seems to be almost perfect! Everything is surprising: Shirley' sexy look, sultry voice and deep lyrics, the stunning production (thanks Butch, Steve and Duke!), the live performances, their music videos, B-sides, the melodies, everything!

TOO GOOD TO BE REAL BUT IT'S REAL! :funky:

The rest is history...

It was the mid-90s, I heard that Butch Vig (whom I knew from his producer days for Nirvana and many other US indie rock bands) was forming a band, I was curious, but a bit wary as I thought it could be some sort of rather cynical vanity project... Then I heard that he'd gotten Shirley Manson to sing and I knew her from Goodbye Mr McKenzie and Angelfish, so my curiousity was piqued further... I heard "Vow" and thought it was a really cool track.. Bought the debut album (which I still feel is their best one tbh...)....

From the radio or music TV or the magazines
