The most successful were those who simply powered through their best-known hits with instant energy, such as Annie Lennox, Will Young and Lionel Richie.

And in the write-up:

Highlights of the evening were a cabaret show from Robbie Williams and a duet by Will Young and soul legend James Brown.

Hope it's true & we get to see it.

Thanks TT, I hope we get to see the duet as well, another "highlight" would be to have Will smile at me like he's doing at Emma. :arrr:

Will in Dutch newspaper Telegraf

Here is a translation from one of Will's Dutch fans Jimmy.

Will seeks succes in Holland

Will's third album KO will be in shops on monday. In Holland, the first winner of Pop Idol isn't very popular, but on the other side of the North Sea, the popularity of the 27 year old singer is enormous. Earlier this month, radio-listeners voted him as 'most popular artist ever', beating Robbie Williams and Paul Mccartney

KO has been around for a couple of months in the UK and reached number 2 in the charts, but he's not very confident the same will happen here/ it all will go well here. "You can't predict it. I haven't been much outside UK, so I have no idea how the audiences are elsewhere." His management company isn't very confidenyt either, as there are no plans for a tour outside the UK. "I'll be touring the UK in september and october and after that I actually want to take a long break/holiday", says Young. If the albums turns out to be a succes over here, then Will knows he's have to postpone his holiday a little longer.

Almost five years ago Will won the first audition of the British version of Idols. Since then, things have gone fast. He won multiple music prizes and delivered 3 albums in no time. "It's all gone very quick, that's why I'm taking a long break. I think I deserve that."

Will Young actively worked on the album himself, writing 7 songs on his own. "it's very provocative(?) I have the feeling this album is a much stronger product than the first two albums. The lyrics are better and it all fits better." He did very well in writing songs. "I found out that misery is a good mood to wite songs in." the singer was feeling unhappy for a while, but now he claims that he is happy. "I'm only writing happy dancesongs at the moment."

Singing is not enough anymore for the Britisch guy. He already played in a film and now there's a play/musical on the horizon. "The energy you get from the audience as an actor, that's really amazing, you can't compare it with anything." According to Young, singing and acting go along really well. "I learn a lot from both. What I learn from the first I use for the other."

The singer is, (tegen wil en dank = not sure how to translate, it literally means "even though he doesn't want it") a rollmodel for young gay men. Immediately after winning PI, he openely admitted that he loved men. "It's not my choice to be a rollmodel, but it comes with the work automatically. It's actually quite flattering really."

Thanks TT. I doubt that Will is going to shed many tears and love the sound of the new songs.

Good Will hunting!May 28 2006

Wales on Sunday

A WELSH talent scout has snapped up Pop Idol winner Will Young as he has his eyes set on becoming a Hollywood movie star.

Showbiz mogul Angharad Wood - who hails from Penarth - has signed up Will as he dreams of movie stardom following his cameo role in this year's Brit flick Mrs Henderson Presents.

Will starred alongside Bob Hoskins and Dame Judi Dench in the British box office smash which told of wartime life at London's famous Windmill Theatre.

But Will now has eyes on America and has called on Angharad - whose agency looks after actors such as 48 Hours star Nick Nolte and Spider-Man star Willem Dafoe - to help him hit the big time.

Will was this week on the books of Angharad's London-based agency Tavistock Wood, sparking rumours that the star hopes to concentrate on his film career.

"Will came to us by mutual agreement," said Angharad, who was born in London but whose parents come from Penarth, near Cardiff.

"I think Will is very talented. We have a few things set up for him, including possible movie roles in Europe and America. I look forward to working with him in this area of his career."

And Will can look forward to big roles with Angharad, who recently secured their client Eva Green, pictured below, the female lead in the forthcoming new James Bond movie Casino Royale.

Last night, a movie source said: "Tavistock Wood only look at talented actors. Will has three auditions lined up already so it's looking good."

And Will says he is thrilled to be working with Angharad.

"As soon as I met them I knew they were going to be great. We share the same vision and I like that Tavistock Wood are a small and personal agency. I'm very excited to be working with them."

But although Will has his eyes set on the silver screen, Will's fans need not despair.

A spokesman for the star said: "Will assures you that he will continue to release music as well as turning his hand to acting."

Makes you feel really proud doesn't it. :cheer:

Can't wait to see what the future brings.

It's a great comment - and one that isn't given lightly methinks.

Thanks TT.
