What made me laugh is when they switched over to the judges & they were discussing how they needed groups. I thought at first they meant bands that played instruments. Then Sharon said they were holding special auditions in Manchester hoping to find another Take That. :o Now I know TT have had a brilliant comeback tour but the charts isn't exactly the place at the moment for boy bands. The judges are so out of touch with the public. :wacko:

 

 

 

So many boybands have come and gone these last ten years, only Westlife are still getting success at the moment apart from Take That's revival and will Take That's new stuff sell well? it could be just a nostalgia trip for many who've bought their greatest hits and seen them on tour this time around, I don't think people want to see another load of stool sitters somehow, maybe if they can sing and dance, it might work.

Any new boyband would have to be pretty special and I cannot see that coming from X-Factor.

But that's part of the success anyway", the Brit sighs.

 

Busy, busy, busy, this versatile artist. Isn't he tired? "When my british tour has finished, I will be going on holidays first.. The past 5 years have gone very quickly. So I've earned a bit of free time"

Just been on their site, not too much information but wikapedia has this

Groove Armada are due to release a new album sometime around July 2006.

so it might be this summer or autumn then. :)

Nel 2002 è stato il re dei tormentoni estivi grazie alla rilettura personale della hit di Jim Morrison "Light my fire", poi il secondo disco "Friday's Child" del 2004 e il ritorno con "Keep on". Abbandonato il pop Will Young vira al soul. Le idee per il futuro sono chiare "Mi prenderò un periodo di pausa di due anni per studiare, lavorare, crescere. Ho bisogno di staccare la spina dopo tanto lavoro", ha detto al Tgcom.

 

Cosa ha imparato in questi anni dal boom del suo successo nel 2002?

Tante cose, sulla musica, sulla vita, su di me ed è questa evoluzione personale che vado a raccontare nelle mie canzoni. Io credo che nella vita sia molto difficile evolversi, imparare, crescere, senza fare errori, eppure è quello che io ho provato a fare. Se oggi la mia musica è più matura è perché ritengo di aver più cose da dire.

 

E cos'ha da dire?

Quando ho cominciato a lavorare a questo terzo album mi sono reso conto di avere le idee più chiare su tante cose. In particolare volevo parlare di quant’è difficile per una persona affermare e difendere la propria personalità, delle difficoltà che si incontrano ad essere pienamente se stessi quando il successo ti travolge e i condizionamenti sono davvero tanti. Le radio, le Tv, lo showbiz si aspetta da te certi comportamenti, certe idee ma io volevo essere vero, sincero, con me stesso e con gli altri. Anche se questo in un certo senso significava uscire dagli schemi e deludere delle aspettative. Mi sono reso conto di quanto tempo e quante energie si sprecano inseguendo falsi miti, dietro cose banali… essere più magri, più belli, avere una macchina più potente… ma questa vita non è sana. E’ di questo che volevo parlare nelle mie canzoni.

 

Fare outing ha causato dei problemi nella sua carriera?

Ho detto che sono gay perché per me era un’esigenza, era più facile dirlo che nasconderlo. Anche perché nella vita io ho sempre vissuto la diversità come una ricchezza, in tutti i sensi. Se non avessi fatto questa dichiarazione sarei stato infelice, ma questa è la mia realtà e io non ne faccio un problema ma nemmeno una bandiera. La vivo come una cosa normale. Allo stesso modo capisco che ci sia gente che preferisce non parlarne. E’ qualcosa di privato che ognuno vive come si sente.

 

Qual è la musica che l'ha particolarmente influenzata?

Prima la musica che ascoltavano i miei genitori: i Rolling Stones, Stenie Wonder ma soprattutto i Beatles che hanno fatto veramente delle cose incredibili. E poi Michael Jackson, soprattutto i primi album. Non conoscevo molto i Doors invece, a differenza di quanto si può pensare visto che il mio successo è legato all’interpretazione di una loro cover (“Light my Fireâ€). A questo proposito ricordo sempre un aneddoto divertente, accaduto proprio in Italia, durante il mio tour promozionale di tre anni fa. Durante un concerto, un gruppo di ragazzi ha alzato uno striscione con su scritto “**** YOU da parte di JIM (Morrison)â€, erano chiaramente dei veri fan dei Doors che non avevano gradito la mia “profanazione†di una canzone di culto. Ma io sono stato felice di leggere quello striscione perché ho pensato che c’è ancora gente che nutre forti passioni per la musica ed è una cosa bella.

 

Ascoltando l’album vengono fuori due stili, le ballate pop da un lato, canzoni più funk-soul dall’altro, rispecchiamo la sua natura?

Nell’album convivono le mie due anime, sono in un costante “equilibrio instabileâ€. Come questo si evolverà in futuro non so dirlo, non ci penso. Di certo posso dire che mi prenderò un periodo di pausa di almeno due anni per studiare, lavorare, crescere. Penso di andare negli USA. E poi ho bisogno di staccare la spina dopo tanto lavoro. Mi chiedo come facciano alcuni artisti come Beyoncé a sfornare un disco dopo l’altro senza prendersi un attimo di tregua... Prima o poi dovrò chiederglielo!

 

Se fosse un pittore, con che colori dipingerebbe questo disco?

Direi che questo è un album blu. Non un blu scuro ma nemmeno un azzurro brillante. Diciamo un blu mare, tra l’acqua profonda e quella caraibica. Ecco, questa è la tonalità di blu che rispecchia le emozioni dell’album.

 

Com'è nella sua vita privata?

Sono un cuoco terribile. Sono molto disordinato. Sono molto molto leale, passionale, allegro. Positivo direi.

Id' say this is a blue record. Not dark blue, not bright blue. Let's say ocean blue, between deep water and Caribbeans one. So, this is the blue tone that reflects the emotions of the album

 

What about your private life ?

I'm such a terrible cooker ! I'm so chaotic ! I'm very very loyal, passionate and happy. Positive, I'd say.

The Pop Idol winner had covered the back seat of his posh convertible with bags after going on a hat-buying spree on Tuesday.

 

He also bought a trilby for boyfriend CONOR — and a pair of matching straw hats for the two of them as well.
