The OS is on fire with news today.

International Update, UK

Will’s been incredibly busy over the past couple of weeks with visits to Stockholm, Paris and Milan to promote Keep On.

During his time abroad, he’s been doing interviews for press, TV and online as well as performing private gigs with his band for the media and record label abroad.

We’re sure you’ll want to know his set list, so: Keep On; All-Time Love; Your Game; Don’t Let Me Be Lonely (a cover of an Isley Brothers classic) and of course, Leave Right Now.

The response has been phenomenal and Will is very happy about developments abroad.

Where does he get the time. I'm worn out just reading about his hectic schedule.

Really hope this leads to more airplay for him abroad.

Thanks to Willma on the OS

Received an e mail today from Applausestore re the album chart show. They want audience members, (free tix) .

It's being recorded at KoKo Nightclub in Camden...the e mail lists Goldfrapp, Jose Gonzales, Morrisey, U2, Richard Ashcroft WILL YOUNG, the Zutons as lining up to appear.

They say it is recorded live in front of an audience, and three astistes appear per show. Not sure if anybody wants to try to apply for tickets, but it says shows are Tues 27th June and Tues 4th July.

Age 18-35.

You may get lucky and be there the night Will is on

Is there a glimmer of hope for a 4th single. :)

Thanks to Willma on the OS

ooohhh.... i hope so pleeeaaassssseeee let it be yes :P

Is there anything on the release schedule for him? Seems a bit early to be promoting a 4th single to me. Maybe he's just doing it for the fun of it ;)

Another OS update.

Current Moves, UK

Will’s last live performance until the tour was at T4’s Party On The Beach last week where he stole the show with his regular band and eight female dancers. Will reckoned it was his favourite TV performance to date.

As of now, Will is fully caught up in plans for Keep On Live. He’s recently done a series of interviews with local UK press to promote it (see below for Leeds Today interview) and will spend the rest of June and July finalising the creative look and feel for the stage show, merchandise and concert programme. He kicks off rehearsals in August.

Meanwhile, international promotion continues abroad with the first single launched already and a second lined up for later in the year. We’ll keep you posted.

They are keeping us well informed.

Wonder what happened to Leeds PITP.

To read about rehearsals makes the tour sound so much nearer. :yahoo:

Was that gig ever really muted though? I thought it was just a vain hope of the organisers - unless I've got it wrong again!

You could be right chrysalis.

Probaly wishful thinking on their behalf that he would top their bill. I ddid think it was strange that it wasn't mentioned in the leedsonline article.

BMG & Will must be happy he is making some inroads abroad to go with a second single. Still find it all very strange but then Will always has his unique way of doing things. :P

Will on BRMB this morning.

From zoe_loves_will on D:

Will was on at 7.05am

He been up all night he had to move his car. coz it was on a meter

He cant be bothered to recycle

he likes rose petals dark red

He has a rider fruit and water for his tour

Eliiot said he looked quite smart in a trilby and will said you think i looked handsome

He swore twice about his bits dangling

He isnt boasting its there for everyone to see, he might be getting his bits out on his latest tour

Tour going to be very theatrical 23 people on stage

The vid for WAI took 2 days

Tours very retro and will be funny

He is going to do one cover version its going to be a very creative show he is going to do a 50s theme

Then they gave out the number to buy tickets.. He said there would be a 50's style section

Info from Jackie:

From what he said I don't think the whole concert is going to be 50s style. Caroline asked him if he ever covered other people's songs on tour and he said he might be doing one. There will be a creative section and there's a song from the 50s that he's thinking about doing.

He said he was up quite early to move his car which was on a meter and he was pleased because it gave him chance to put his recycling bin out which he sometimes forgot to do..

Gonna be mighty crowded - no wonder he's not going to make anything from this

Looking forward to this tour.

Who said he won't make anything on this tour? I thought that was the theatre tour in 2004? he told Steve Wright or was it Matthew Wright? that he had a big budget for this and he was going to spend it all on the arena tour, he'll make a fortune on the merchandise alone.

I thought he said that he wouldn't be making a lot from it but he refused to compromise on quality. Maybe I'm wrong - it's all relative anyway - the exposure will most probably bring rewards in more album sales so he won't lose whatever happens. ;)

Article in Newcastle Evening Chronicle 26/6/06, thanks to Den.

Will Young has come a long way since he catapulted to fame in 2002, with his Pop Idol victory over Gareth Gates.

With 3 albums, 4 number one sinlges, numerous awards and a hit British film under his belt, the 27 year old has much to be proud of.

The upcoming Keep On tour, playing various locations across the country during September and October, is clearly at the forefront of the singer's mind and he talks about it animatedly.

'I'm really excited. The last tour went so well, I'm wanting to improve on that. I think you have to put on a great show as people have paid a lot of money to come and see it.'

Always polite, the former Pop Idol winner also said: 'I think there have been some other great shows recently, such as Madonna and Take That. They always put on a good show.'

When asked about preparations for the tour, starting in September, Will said, 'There's a lot of work going into it. We're going to have 23 dancers on stage in total. Its going to be big.'

The tour, which comes to Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on September 23, will be the realisation of months of hard work.

Will explains,' I actually had an idea about how I wanted to perform some of the songs from the albumwhen I was writing them so performing them on stage is kind of the end of a two year dream.'

The tour will feature songs from his third album, Keep On, alongside a selection of songs from his previous albums, From Now On and Fridays Child.

'I love performing new material as it's so fresh but it's also great fun doing the older stuff. We've reworked some of my previous songs so those should be fun too.'

When questioned about writing his own songs, Will said:' I wrote about half of them, about seven.'

So what does Will think about Tyneside? 'Ive been on a few occassions, maybe about 5 times but I don't really know much about the area,' he admits. 'But it seemed nice. We just stuck along the Quayside as that was where we were staying but it seemed really fun. Good bridge!'

Whichever bridge Will was talking about, its clear he's a nice guy. And also truly devoted to his music. He said,' To be honest I dont get much spare time at the moment with preparations for the tour, its so much work, its all go. I also spend a lot of time emailing my creative director as he's in Australia at the moment.'

A performer by trade, Will has also dipped his toes into the world of acting, playing the part of Bernie (sic) in the 2005 film Mrs Henderson Presents, along side Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins.

The more I read about the tour, the more excited I get. :yahoo:

Cheers Suggy - me too :yahoo: :bounce: Feel like a great big kid. Wonder if he fully realises the affect he has :P

23 Dancers - sounds along the lines of Your Game :cheer:

Edited by munchkin

Just read this over on D (thanks to Melle) - now who's gonna start the bidding :dancing: :-

Stars rally support for pub theatre

Will Young, Richard E Grant, Joanna Lumley and Maureen Lipman are among stars who have agreed to “prostitute†themselves to help secure the future of north London pub theatre the King’s Head.

The performers will join critic Benedict Nightingale, MP Boris Johnson, Cats choreographer Gillian Lynne and award-winning songwriter Don Black in auctioning an hour of their time to help raise money for the venue’s refurbishment.

Bidding is likely to start at £2,000 for the chance to have tea with Lumley and Lipman, attend a first night with Nightingale or get a dancing appraisal from Lynne, with managers hoping some lots will go for more than £10,000. Negotiations are also underway with film director Guy Ritchie and actor Hugh Grant, who appeared on the King’s Head stage in the eighties, to take part.

Development manager George Ritchie said: “There are about £150,000 of improvements that we need to do to keep the place going but we aren’t funded at all.

“We are asking people to prostitute themselves for us and if we can raise £40,000 to £50,000 we will be really happy. For a small venue like the King’s Head to have got support from such big names is fantastic.â€

The invite-only event in September will see the pub transformed into a thirties-style cabaret venue for guests including Princess Alexandra.

Money raised will go towards fixing the pub theatre’s roof and installing new toilets, flooring and lighting.

I would willingly prostitute myself to get enough money, just to get my grubby mitts on him for an hour :yahoo:

I wonder if Will is going to be the 'cabaret' on the night of the auction.

It's 30's style, just his scene, and he's said in a couple of interviews that he'd like to do cabaret.

Just to add to that, apparently this venue is going to feature cabarets in the future as is the re-vamped London Hippodrome. I bet we'll see Will play at one of them next year when he starts looking at other projects. :D
