Millionaire singer Will Young has taken a huge cut to appear in a stage play.

The Pop Idol star will earn just 350 a week to perform at the Royal Ex Theatre in Manchester in January.

Will 27, who's made 9 million from record sales and tourswill play musician Nicky Lancaster, the role originally played by Noel Coward when it opened in 1924.

Will said "I'm excited. I am sure it will be daunting but I want to learn more in this field.

Will made his acting debut last year alongside JD and BH in the Oscar-nominated film MHP.
