If it hasn't been posted elsewhere, this is what Carly posted on D (from to-day's Bizarre)

WILL YOUNG is off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz.

The Pop Idol winner is well on his way up the yellow brick road to landing a part in new West End hit Wicked.

He will play the male lead, a character called Fiyero, in the “untold story of the Witches of Ozâ€.

He has already had an audition to replace ADAM GARCIA when the Aussie actor’s contract runs out in six months.

Will has been swotting up on his lines and was spotted getting the VVIP treatment at the show.

A source told me: “Will was treated like a king.

“LUCY LIU, who was in Charlie’s Angels, had been in to watch the show a couple of nights before and didn’t receive the same pampering.

“Will had the best seats and was put in the VIP room, something which isn’t the norm for celebrities.

“They’re really trying to woo him and he seems keen to get started with rehearsals.â€

Will was bitten by the acting bug after starring in Oscar-nominated film Mrs Henderson Presents.

But the lead male role in Wicked is a strong, masculine part — a REAL test of the camp singer’s acting skills.

But if he pulls it off, the musical could see Will launch a lucrative career in the US

Thanks chrysalis.

Really hope this is true. Will has stated he would love to do an original musical & with his quirky sense of humour I think he'd be BRILLIANT in the role.

Now how do I tell hubby it looks like it ain't going to be such a quiet Will year after all! :P

I knew there had to be a reason for me feeling on edge when I got up this morning, ;) I've just seen it on SKY as well, it says he's landed the role on there though, but I'll wait for the official confirmation on his site, which could mean waiting a long time. It'll be great if it's true, somebody's posted on Devoted that Will was seen dancing on the tables with Adam Garcia in a night club last year, maybe it's Adam who put Will's name up for the part when he finishes his stint? It's always exciting being a Will fan isn't it? :yahoo:

Can I ask a cheeky question? Is Adam gay?

I've no idea Dot but I don't think so, what do you have in mind if he is.

I can't see Will ever sitting still for long though - don't you remember when he took the 9 months out in 2003 and we felt it was going to be so quiet. Whilst he may not have been hitting the headlines, what did he do - Feetbeat and other charity events etc, plus Exeter, plus FC. This time he's doing The Vortex, possibly Wicked, plus an album, and that's for starters.

Wonderful, exciting news if it's true. I'm not surprised they want him with his voice - it's just made for the live stage. I remember reading about him and Adam in that club - these things don't just happen by accident ;)

Hope it's true.

Mine too.

The reason I asked my question is that VN implied that Will wouldn't be able to take on a macho role.

Well Dot, I think I'd be more worried about VN being able to pull off a feminine role, she does come across as being a bit of a clod hopper to me.

IT'S CALLED A JACK, WILL

Beverley Lyons

WILL YOUNG might be able to sing and act, but when it comes to cars, he doesn't have a clue.

Thankfully, he had a little help from a man who may well have been called called Jack.

Will's Porsche developed a puncture as he was out and about in London.

The panicking singer left traffic wardens a note on his car windscreen.

Moments later an amused mechanic showed Will that his spare tyre was kept in the bonnet. As he proceeded to do all the dirty work, all Will could do was look on.

Well he can't be good at everything! :P

I've never known anybody have so much bother just getting around London as Will does, he's either being ticketed, towed away or breaking down.
One of the girls said that this was something that happened earlier in the year. His battery had died and he couldn't start it up.

I remember that.

Seems the press just need to keep mentioning him.
