sixpence has just posted this on devoted :cheer:

think you'll find it's true, because somebody who knows Will, told me about him doing this programme for the BBC after the South African Concert

Didn't like to divulge the information at the time as it was told to me in the strictest confidence during the Concert. I've been waiting to hear this news, and I'm so thrilled and happy that it all seems to be coming to fruition

Bulldog has posted that you can listen to the whole of Nitin's set today at 2pm, including Will and Nitin's collaboration "Home". :yahoo:

1400 Live Music: Nitin Sawhney's live set from the BBC Electric Proms, including a unique collaboration with pop star Will Young

The call of Cape Town hits pop star Will Young

It's just a day before his Cape Town concert kicks off, but British star Will Young is cool, calm and collected.

He is in the city for the first leg of the Unite of the Stars benefit tour, which takes place at the Bellville Velodrome tomorrow.

US heart-throb Marco Hernandez, Italian crooner Patricio Buanne, newcomer Shayne Ward and 1980s pop sensation Bananarama are also set to take to the stage.

"I love Cape Town. I like this area. I like Llandudno too, even though it's further out," says Young, who is wearing jeans, a white striped T-shirt and takkies.

"I'm very excited. It's going to be fun. I haven't ever performed in South Africa."

Young has been in Cape Town four times but this will be his first performance in the city. He has a friend in Cape Town and his godmother lives in Johannesburg.

He says he has considered buying property in Cape Town but has not followed through yet

.

Asked what audiences can expect at his show, he says he will be providing a bit of a "mix and match".

"We haven't decided on the songs but that's good, it means that it can vary."

Audiences may have a chance to hear Home, which is one of his favourite songs on his latest album Keep On. Talking about his career, he describes it as "a lot of hard work".

"There has been a lot happening. I've finished three albums, had seven tours.

After Young's tour of South Africa, which will also include shows in Mossel Bay, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, Durban, a gala dinner in Johannesburg and a performance at the Coca-Cola Dome, Young will head to Gabon where he will track gorillas with the BBC for two weeks.

Thanks TT i have just seen that  from that it looks like Wills programme is about the orang-utans there is no mention of gorillas

Well i am happy with either :yahoo:

Celebrities will be highlighting the plight of rhinos hunted for their horns; turtles whose eggs are stolen; orang-utans suffering from the deforestation of their habitat; crocodiles endangered by hunters; as well as elephants, tigers, sharks and albatrosses, who are threatened by the destruction of their habitats and poaching.
