Awww thanks for bringing that over Lainey, I bet Will was upset when he heard the sad news, he respected James and they seemed to have a mutual, if only short term friendship. :(

Legend James makes final vow

By SEAN HAMILTON

Deputy Showbiz Editor

December 26, 2006

COMMENT ON THIS STORY

JAMES Brown made a deathbed vow to climb back on stage this New Year’s Eve — but never made it.

He was taken to hospital at the weekend after being diagnosed with pneumonia during a routine trip to the DENTIST.

Concerts in Connecticut and New Jersey were immediately cancelled.

But Brown’s manager Frank “SuperFrank†Copsidas revealed: “On Sunday he told me, ‘I’ll be there for New Year’s Eve.’ And he was looking forward to a two-week tour in January.â€

SuperFrank said Brown died “73 years youngâ€. He added: “That’s the way he’d have seen it. He would have wanted to say Merry Christmas.â€

Will Young was the first person to contact SuperFrank after Brown died. The British singer palled up with the soul legend after their duet at Live 8 last year.

SuperFrank said: “They had a lot of respect for each other.â€

Bless Will.

That's a good result for Will whether it's 3rd or 4th, thanks for that TT.

:hi: everyone - sad news about James Brown. Bet Will was very upset but he did something that not many singers in this country did. He performed with and gained the respect and friendship of a great soul man. He can be justifiably proud.

Good to see him make the grade on Radio 1 - thought he may well have been outvoted on there. :P

Obviously Daily Star didn't feel the need to change the votes because he'd won it so many times then B)

Really good to see the true figures. Thanks girls.

Sorry about your cat Suggy. :(

Sorry if already posted but I can't see it anywhere,

Anyway, casually looking through my brothers christmas presents yesturday when I found his 2007 guiness book of world records (kind of tradition that he has the new one every christmas lol). By coincidence the second page I turned to had Will on!!!!

On page 162 there's a little section 'EXCLUSIVE REALITY TV SUCCESS STORIES' -' They may be universally panned by the critics, but the stars of reality tv shows are often more successful than their "genuine" celebrity counterparts.

Theres a pic of Will singing with Kelly C. and a small text box below which reads...

Double A side "Anything is possible/Evergreen" released by pop idol 2002 winner Will Young sold a record 1,108,269 copies in it's first chart week from 25th feb to 2nd march 2002. With 385,000 on its first day. It went to sell an unprecendented 2 million singles in the UK in just 15 weeks and then it goes on to talk about Kellys' success.

Was a nice surprise to find him on the second page I turned to

Can't see it ever being beaten.

:hi: Luneara.

Indeed it hasn't been - and to be honest I don't think it ever will be. :yahoo:

Hope you're enjoying your time in England Luneara. :D

Hope you have better news about your cat Suggy - they become so much part of the family. I know I used to talk to mine as if they were human - and they understood every word I said.

Thanks all for posting all the snippets etc. Amazing when you think about it. Will hasn't had a record out for months, yet still he's talked about. B)
