a little snippet from an interview with Just jack :D

One song that looks a bit wider than people's everyday lives is current single Starz In Their Eyes, a witty critique of X Factor and Big Brother type shows.

More catchy and memorable a pop song than Shayne Ward will ever record, it warns those attracted by the lifestyle of the not so rich but very famous that they're likely to come unstuck. "It's not seeing fame in a terrible light as such, but it's a bit of a cautionary tale," says Jack. "It's about X Factor and shows like that, and it's also generally about the media and the industry and celebrity and all that kind of stuff. "I think with those kind of programmes a lot of people get trampled on. Although they go into it willingly, and they know what's going to happen, they still do, it's a weird thing. Like with Big Brother, you could say that seven years on, people shouldn't be doing it if they don't want to be in that position, but they still do. "At some point, though, maybe the people that make those programmes need to be a bit accountable for what happens to the people when they're all washed up and discarded afterwards."

So, despite his own bad experiences with the music industry, Jack is still an avid supporter of the old-fashioned way of making it in the music business. "Well most people do it that way," he says. "I just think that people don't take you that seriously. If you think about the people that have come from those shows, only Will Young has done it, really.

"It's about integrity isn't it? OK, I make pop music as well, but I think there are people who do go into the pop area and manage to keep their sanity. As long as you keep doing what you set out to do, I think that's cool."

Starz In Their Eyes is out this week.

He's hit the nail on the head - Will has come through his Madness and survived.

Thanks BYM&Ms - who is Jack by the way?

Thanks BYM&M's.

Just Jack's single is currently at 2 in the singles chart midweeks on downloads.

Here's a bit about him.

Who is Just Jack? The twenty-seven year old North London native is as hard to define as his debut album Outer Marker which spans all genres of electronic music. He raps without gangsta bravado and even sings, each song sharing his grasp for observational storytelling and keen nature for communicating his vision. The Cure-sampling first US single "Snowflake" is breaking on radio stations across the country and is just a taste of his multidimensional album.
Thanks TT - must go around with my eyes and ears closed as I didn't realise who Just Jack was either!! Think he's bang on with the integrity/sanity bit.

Hi Will

Thanks for the add. Apparently, I barely missed you in Majorca when I was there in July '05. You sound great in the rough cut and can't wait for the release. Thank you for your support for those of us living with HIV/AIDS around the world.

Safe Journeys!

More on that from will-4-me

I have started a new topic for this because I thought it might get lost- hope that's okay?

After reading this post I decided to do a bit of research on this. I went to the chaps blog and saw 1 Giant Leap link and then had a look at their bulletin boards where I found more info on their latest project.

I know his name isn't mention in the write up BUT click on the film link - will take a while to load then about three quarters of the way in you'll find several clips of Will singing! So I think this may well be the rumours about music/video that we have hearing about. Also notice the video link has 19 Entertainment on it.

Welcome to 1 Giant Leap

Welcome to 1 Giant Leap - the second film and album is deep in Post Production now, due to be completed later this year.
