Posted June 14, 200718 yr There are reports flying around that JoJo isnt seeing eye-to-eye with her management, Blackground after so many things have gone wrong for her for the past 2 years. The first big mistake that Blackground made with their first ever platinum selling artist since Aaliyah first started a few months ago when a little mini tour started in america and Blackground had the stage placed next to a train station and also all the technical difficulties that came from the mike and music. this mistake came after a few months after JoJo's winter single How To Touch A Girl bombed in the Hot 100 due to a lack of promotion since Blackground scheduled JoJo wrongly since she was over seas promoting her first single nearly a year after Too Little Too Late premiered in the US. The latest mistake that Blackground have recently made is the no video for JoJo's latest single Anything which recently peaked at 21 in the UK. Fans were disappointed especially since the song had top 10 hit written all over it. When JoJo was over in the UK she done 2 performances. one of them, most fans werent even able to attend and neither of them were noted by the fans.even when she has an official website and a street team dedicated to her. the least her management could do was let the fans know about appearances and make a video. The closest thing that fans had to a video was the fan video that was made by Joao Vasconcelos (TheHighRoad) as part of the Street Team competition which (speaking for myself) left him betrayed by her management since they promised that the video would be put on the site and on the CD. and while we are on the subject of going back on their words, Blackground promised fans who bought the album when it was first released in November that a special bonus content that will appear on the site. 7 months later and still no word of bonus content. so what do you think? should she leave Blackground? she will technically still have a mangement because she is with Def Jam and Mercury for her UK releases
June 14, 200718 yr Mercury are terrible in the UK! look what they have done with Lucie Silvas from Forget Me Not onwards
June 14, 200718 yr yes new management will hopefully help her do miles better by keeping fans updated and helping her with promo! -_-
June 14, 200718 yr Author i dont think there will be a video let alone another single :( which is a shame cos there are some great singles on that album :( she'll probably finish doing her lil mini US tour and then leave them and stay with her mum as manager and do a couple of films. she will get a quick contract easily. when she was 8 she got dozens of contracts. i dont see what has changed......
June 14, 200718 yr Why would she leave them? Lol she wouldnt be so silly. Artists only leave when they are on the verge of being dropped, because its hard to find another deal if you just up and leave willy nilly!
June 14, 200718 yr ^ If she leaves it shows she has initiative and that she won't take sh!t, some labels will admire her for taking control of her career.
June 15, 200718 yr But nobody leaves lol, their career would have to be on the rocks anyway. I think the question being posed in this thread should be 'Blackground to drop JoJo?', which seems possible given that they didnt give her a video for Anything, and The High Road hasnt taken off at all in the UK. (btw, where exactly are these reports that are flying around? got any links? ;))
June 15, 200718 yr Author ^my mate said he downloaded a 3 video from his phone with JoJo saying that she isnt seeing eye-to-eye with them and also when ever she talks about them in her myspace blogs she always sounds so annoyed and plus there was a programme about teenage stars and JoJo was on it and they aired a meeting with her and her management and her and her mum (who is also her manager) seemed quite angry at them cos they wanted to do somethings to JoJo that they wouldnt let them to.

Absolutely no way will they drop her, she is their ONLY major artist. That's why I'm so shocked that they didn't try and milk this album (which can't have been difficult to do).
June 15, 200718 yr Author ^exactly. like i said in the original post, she is the ONLY platinum artist that they had since Aaliyah
June 15, 200718 yr Lmao sssh :P Im pretty sure he must be close to JoJo's sales globally though, Shock Value has been a big success...Hes defo their most high-profile act.
