Full details as released: Elvis And Me - Saturday 11 August 2007: 20.00 - 21.00 To mark the 30th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley, Elvis and Me features both famous and 'ordinary' fans - talking about what Elvis means to them. Through their reflections of ‘The King’ and his music the programme explores the emotional connection Elvis’s fans felt and the adoration he still commands 30 years after his death. The programme includes interviews with famous fans Alan Bleasdale, Bono, Paul McCartney, Robert Plant, Tim Rice, Cliff Richard and Jimmy Webb and memories from those that worked closely with Elvis – his backing group, The Jordanaires, guitarist James Burton and songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller who penned some of his most successful hits. Elvis - 68 Comeback: Tuesday 14 August 2007: 22.30 - 23.30 This one hour documentary explores the amazing impact and legacy of a TV special filmed for NBC called ‘Elvis’, now better know as Elvis’s '68 Comeback special'. Elvis' stands as one of the great television moments in rock music history and a stunningly brilliant milestone in Elvis Presley's career. Elvis rocked the world in the 1950s, a leader among musicians who brought about a revolution in music and pop culture. Through most of the 1960s he concentrated mainly on his movie career, which was very successful, but had become a grind and had not given him many opportunities to prove himself as a serious actor. By 1968, it had been more than seven years since Elvis had appeared on stage in front of a live audience. In this television special, Elvis played his greatest role - simply being himself. July 5, 200718 yr Author ITV1 (UK) is to mark the 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death next month with an hour-long documentary. "Young Elvis In Colour" will feature the singer's early film screen-tests together with footage of him in concert. There will also be interviews with his childhood friends and musicians.
