I'll be out but might track down a download. The Swap Shop / Superstore et al reunion was pretty good fun.

Yes, i'm looking forward it, it's being released on dvd on 25/6 with extra footage....the programme on saturday night i mean.

There is already a dvd comprising the 3 videos which were released in the 90s.

hmm.... im not sure itll be funny now, i think its pure nostalgia..

I'm a bit too scared to watch it in case I think it's totally lame now..... Happens with a lot of things that I loved as a kid - "A-Team", "Magnum", "Knight Rider".......

.......... but them programmes were always c**p m8! and from what ive seen of tonights show... it looks embarrassing. tbh id sooner see a documentary on the seriese with original clips, tonights show looks like a load of old people repeting gags they did 30 years ago... doubt itll work, its out of its time.

Oh come on dude, you're forgetting that I was about TEN when those progs came out on telly....  :P

One of the best programmes I watched over last Christmas was the BBC2 retrospective hosted by Noel Edmonds (with John Craven, Keith Chegwin & Maggie Philbin) on Swapshop.

As that was great, I'm sure this retrospective on its more anarchistic and erratic ITV equivalent will be just as good tonight. (Although sadly I'm out, so I'll probably have to buy the DVD).

btw I thought you were talking about bring back shows like this and the JLC one.

The show brings memories flooding back  Phil Collins dressed up as a flower

Well that was a good evening of pure nostalgia! Loved it.

That and Doctor Who on the same night made a great evening's viewing.

well my worries proved to be ill founded... it was excellant! made me laugh and makes me remember just how good this show was! the support it had off major celebs, how it really did p*** all over swap shop (who tf wants to swap broken toys anyway?... bizarre) and i loved the way tarrant refered to noel ... tarrant was right! tiswas was the best show.... in fact, id rate it as THE best 'kids' show ever. i think that over time its impact and innovation has been forgotten, it had monty pythons seal off approval.. and at that time mpfc was THE comedic authority.

interestingly dick n dom in 'da bung-lo' were there and recieved due punishment! a flan!

tiswas was THE template saturday morning show, all shows since have featured 'gunge' or 'pies' in some form..

it was fantastic, anarchaic, mad, with comedy greats like milligan and palin paying homage its greatness is now sadly forgotten. 'kids' show?... nah.... lol.

really enjoyed it, i cant remember all the famous people they had on the show now, but there must have been loads( Status Quo,Wings,Genesis to name a few). Just proves what great entertainment we had when we were younger, before the politically correct brigade took over tv  .

There is a fantastic TISWAS website complete with forum here.

was their not an adult version of Tiswas called OTT?
was their not an adult version of Tiswas called OTT?

thats with that infamous comedian dude who drowned falling from his floating pub innit? Malcolm Hardy?? the naked balloon dance (did they do it on that revival show??? )

also think Alexei Sayle (of Kia Magentis fame) was something to do with it
