Posted June 15, 200718 yr Hello to every1 again. I haven't been here for a long time. I just wanted to share with somebody how happy I am because in 3 days /18.06.2007/ PLACEBO have concert here in Bulgaria/Sofia/. I can't wait to see them again and if some1 is interested in it after that I can send some photos and video  if I can take some of course - I guess that they won't be high quality but anyway. I wanted to say somewhere and to someone how I am feeling at the moment. God, I can imagine how I will feel on the 18th and after that......but what I know is that I am in  as it has always been. Thank you for reading it and thank you for listening to that undescribable music becuase it really is.
June 15, 200718 yr I've felt just the same in the run up to the two times I've seen them, so I can understand. :D I hope you enjoy it, and be sure to tell us all about it!
June 15, 200718 yr I know exactly how you feel. It's amazing isn't it? And during the concert it'll be even better! :yahoo: And, yes, we are interested in pictures which you'll take. :D And review will be great, also. :yahoo:

June 16, 200718 yr We have two Bulgarian fans in here who'll go on a concert in two days. :yahoo: Yay! :yahoo: I guess that also means that we'll be able to read some reviews from that concert.
June 19, 200718 yr The concert was phenomenal! Much better than the first Placebo concert I attended (which was fantastic itself). I am still excited and I will post a full review of the concert + HQ pictures + videos tomorrow.
June 20, 200718 yr Here's my review of the concert. It was a really hot day and being dressed all in black didn't help. Luckily the venue was situated 100 metres from where I live so I could observe if people were gathering from my balcony so I didn't need to hurry :) I went to the concert with my roomate, my sister and a friend. We went to the venue just 2 hours before the concert and there were not more than 200 people outside already waiting. The concert was scheduled for 8 p.m. so they opened the doors at around 7:30. Because of our early arrival and my sprinter skills (jk) we managed to get to the front row, just a bit left from where Brian's microphone was. Of course I let my little sister stay in front of me so that she could actually see anything (I owe her that from the Depeche Mode concert)... so you could say I was fbetween first and second row. People started gathering slowly and at 8:10 the warm-up band (a Bulgarian Brit Pop band) came on stage. They played 7 songs (35 minutes set) one of which I actually enjoyed :) It was while they were performing that the sound in the venue is pretty bad... oh well. They finished their set at around 8:40. After a 40 minutes wait Stefan came on stage... and few seconds after him came Brian and Steve. The crowd just went hysterical. I think we gave them a really warm welcome. Unfortunately, one of the security guards who was standing just in front of Brian did something wrong (I didn't see what exactly), pissed off Brian so he looked him straight into the eyes and order him to leave. I was really disappointed cause I thought this will ruin Brian's mood and probably affect the whole concert. I wasn't completely wrong, but thanks to the constantly cheering crowd I think that everybody forgot about the incident after the first few songs. Of course the concert started with 'Infra Red', followed by 'Because I Want You' and a lovely slower piano performance of 'Meds'. Cameras weren't allowed for the concert but I managed to sneak one (don't ask where I hid it) so I took a lot of pictures, some of which really close up. For some reason, the crowd went crazy when the band started playing 'I know' which really surpirsed me because it's one of the more unpopular songs from the setlist. Everybody was singing along and it was one of the most rememberable moments of the concert. Song to Say Goodbye followed.. I don't need to describe what was the reaction to this song :) But the next performance made me personally very happy. The moment I heard the soft mellow guitars I knew it was Follow The Cops. Why that particular song made me so happy? First of all it is one of my favourites from Meds, and secondly it was one of those 3 songs excluded from the setlist in Macedonia (where the previous concert was)and hearing it would mean that we would get the 18-tracks setlist :D :funky: . I really enjoyed that song and it gave me chills a few times :) Then 'Every Me and Every You' followed and the crowd exploded again. Somebody was jumping on my back, water was splashing from bottles... absolute insanity :) After 'Special Needs' and 'One of a Kind' I knew that it was time for 'Without you I'm Nothing' so I grabbed the camera and I managed to capture the whole song.. .and trust me, it was really hard to stand still through the whole performace, but it was all worth it :) Blind was next from the setlist (another favourite of mine) I let the girl behind me get in front of me so that she could be front row for that song. It was then that I realised how hot it was in the hall. I looked around and everybody was soaking wet. The guys from the band were also melting which caused Brian to change his shirt. Through Special K Stefan turned the microphone to the audience and Brian encouraged the crowd to sing the 'para-pa-pa-para' part .. and so we did. I was really glad so see Brian's happy face thanks to 'the audience performace'. 'Bitter End' was the last song from the expected setlist. After that the band went backstage but the everybody started cheering/clapping/screaming so after 10 minutes break the guys went back on stage :) I was again prepared to capture another video of a favourite song (Running Up The Hill) but my hands hurt so much from clapping that I wasn't sure if I could do it. My hero girlfriend did it for me :) Placebo performed a really long version of the songs (probably around 9-10 minutes). We filmed around 6 minutes of that cause it was just quitar experiments an noises after that, besides the battery of the camera was already low and I wanted to save it for 'Twenty Years'. So when that songs started after 'Taste in Men' I took the camera again. The performance ot "Twenty Years' was phenomenal. It was the highest peak of the night for me. So much happened during that particular performance. Stefan was so pleased that went off stage and went straight to us (you'll see the close ups later). The security people were all agaist his move, but he told them it was ok and played just in front of the front row :) Brian wanted to come too but he was a bit restrained by the cable of his electric quitar. While Stefan was was going back on stage he picked the Bulgarian national flag from somebody and wrapped it around his shoulders :D . The audience exploded with the noisiest screams for the night :) The band continued to play the song for over 6 minutes. For the last few minutes Brian went down on his knees and stayed like that until the very end :) It was a magical performance. That's how it all ended. When the lights went on I saw that everybody was looking like they were coming out of a sauna - soaking wet :D I didn't stay in front of the stage to wait for quitar picks and setlist as many others did. I preffered to go out and buy a tour t-shirt instead :) The other guys were lucky because Steve came out and throw his drum sticks. Other people from Placebo's crew were giving away quitar picks and other little stuff to the few people left. After that I went to my favourite bar where I met a few friends. Special thanks to the DJ in the bar - every third song was a Placebo song :) Sorry for the long concert review but there was just so much to tell. Unfortunatelly I still don't have the pictures/clips because my girlfriend took the camera after the concert and it' still at her place. I'll post them as soon as I get them. June 20, 200718 yr Ow, thank you for such amazing review! :yahoo: In one moment I actually felt like I was there, really. Because I remember concert in Macedonia, so I know how atmosphere can be great. I'm glad to hear they did longer and more regular setlist! :yahoo: Sorry to hear that you all were melting, but on the other side, maybe is better like that, then being flooded. Or being very close to canceling the concert because of the rain. What that guy from security did to Brian? Glad to hear that it didn't have any influence to the rest of the concert. So Stef was playing right in front of the first row? :o  And I agree about long playing of the songs. Running Up That Hill and Twenty Years are amazing, especially the ending parts of the songs. You should stayed until end and catch some stuff they were trowing. :P They did that also in Macedonia, and I like that. Just imagine to catch quitar picks or drum sticks. :yahoo:  Can't wait for the videos and pictures you'll post. :yahoo: I found some pictures also, so I can post them if you want. :D
June 21, 200718 yr Yes... Stefan did play 50cm from the front row... I could touch him if I wanted to but everybody else was doing it so I didn't want to bother him :) ...and about the security incident - they say that the guy in front of Brian didn't do his job properly and let one of the photographers use flash light right in Brian's eyes. So that got Brian angry...
June 21, 200718 yr Wow, must be really good feeling to be that close to Stefan! :w00t: :yahoo: Ok, I understand now why Brian was mad. Btw, I found and watched some videos from Bulgaria and I love them. It seems that there really was a good atmosphere. :D
June 22, 200718 yr Here are some clips from the concert (not filmed by me). It's almost the complete concert. Unfortunately I still don't have mine. I can't seem to get a hold of the camera.
June 22, 200718 yr Brilliant review there NoiseAddict, a great read and it seems you enjoyed yourself very much. Makes me want to see them again. :D
June 23, 200718 yr Thank you for finding all those videos. :yahoo: For now, I only watched RUTH, it's brilliant, of course. Just too bad that the end of the song isn't saved... :( Will watch the rest of the videos later. ^_^
