My road to see Placebo started on Monday at 4:00 p.m. and I was going with a train most of a road. I was in Macebonia on early morning around 8:00 a.m. (big way, isn't it :o ). I had a lot of free time till concert, which should start at 9:00 p.m. the same day. I used it to relax a bit and to see Skopje. It's quite nice city. I did some shopping also. :naughty:

Before going to the centre of the city, I decided to go to see place where concert is suppose to be. I saw how workers were preparing the stage, and there I made my only picture. I saw guitars :w00t: (Brian's and Stefan's) and drums. Seeing that guitars was enough excited for me, believe me or not. I mean, I know all of them, I know which one is supposed to be used in which song and so on...

I thought that concert place is in one arena or something like that, but no, it was outside with sky above us. It turns out that this fact was the main problem. At 5:00 p.m. I noticed that sky have some kind of dark colour and it was obvious that's going to be a storm. And it was started at 6:00 p.m. I thought I'm going to cry. It was like 80% chance that concert will be canceled. :o At 7:00 p.m. my dad and me decided to go to a concert, despite of the fact that a tinny rain was still falling. :( Btw, yes, my dad was

on concert with me. :D

I think we came first there. There still wasn't sure will there even be a concert. After some time, safeguard told us to go on the other gate. When we came there, there was just like 50 people. I thought, great, if they didn't cancel concert because of rain, they'll do it because not many people came. :( There I was talking with one girl from Macedonia and saw few people from Serbia. I had fun discuss with one guy from Serbia. Around 8:20 p.m. they let us in.

If I wanted, I could be in first five rows, but I went to a sitting places. I had an amazing view of a stage from there. The band before Placebo was 3 minutes in the rain (funny and ironic isn't it? ). They were good, but nothing special. Around 8:50 p.m. crows started to coming, coming and coming. :o :w00t: Suddenly, the place was looking much better. I think there were around 3500 - 4000 people :w00t: , but I'm not sure.

At 9:20 p.m. Steve come on the stage, then Stefan, and Brian, of course. In first moment when I saw them I thought I'll cry because of happyness. Opened track was Infra-red, as usually. When they started playing it, I noticed how the sound was perfect. :yahoo: There are no words to describe how amazing it sound. Later I heard that people who were around 500 m from the concert place could easily heard every song, and the crowd. :yahoo: A very nice surprise for me was the way they played One Of A Kind. Brian was using a lot word f*** during the concert, but it was cute. Crowd liked the most performance of Special K. They all were dancing and parampapaparara :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:. They liked a lot The Bitter End and Every You Every Me.

When Brian had a cigarette break, he was talking a bit with a crowd. He says that he noticed that a lot of big guys are in front rows and that pretty girls are behind them and can't see the band. So he asked big guys to move, but I think they didn't want to do that. That was funny.

I thing that conection between crowd and band was very good. During Special Needs when crowd needed in one part to answer with screams, they did it. :yahoo: Me, also. :yahoo: For me the top of the concert was song Running Up That Hill. I love it very much, and this time it sound unbelievable great. Especially the ending of the song, when they just played the music. I never heard they did it on that way. Beautiful.   When Brian took a black guitar with something silver on it, I knew that they'll play Twenty Years, and that this will be the end. That song they also did very good, rocky end is just great.

Brian didn't learn any Macedonian word, he just said hi to FYR of Macedonia. Cute and enough.

Brian and Stefan were changing the guitars after every song I think. B) That even impressed my dad. :D He said he never saw one band is changing them that many times.

I think they played around 1 hour and 20 minutes... Very short, if you ask me... And it was surprise for me that they didn't play: Blind or Follow The Cops Back Home or Space Monkey or Taste In Men. They definitely should play at least one song more.

But, never mind. It was amazing. That was the day when my big dream comes alive. I'm sure I'll see them live again. ^_^ :D

I want that you all see some pictures, but I'll post them later. :D

Wow Nada, that sounds awesome. :D How close to the front were you?

The setlist looks almost the same as when I've seen them, starting with 'Infra-Red' and rounding off with 'Twenty Years'. It's a shame they missed out some songs though. :( But the crowd always seem to go wild to Special K, The Bitter End and Every You Every Me.

Sounds like you had an amazing time all in all, Brian's live voice is incredible isn't it?

I don't know how far from stage I was, but I know that I was in front of a Brian and I saw everything perfectly. :yahoo:

Just one more thing. In those three days, I was traveling around 30 hours. :o But, it was worth, just because of seeing Placebo. And can you just imagine how sad and angry I'd be if concert was canceled.

awwwwww my amiga's dream finally came true   I'm so happy for you! I can't even imagine what it feels like to travel 30 hours in just 3 days

I'm so happy the concert wasn't canceled because I know the weather wasn't all that good here :/

You had the best time at the concert and it was all worth it!!!! :yahoo:

Hope you see them again soon

Yes, I saw them for the first time. ^_^ It was good feeling being on a concert with dad. As he knows almost all songs, he also enjoyed.

I was thinking that he'll be the oldest person there, but no, there were all generations. Really great. :cheer:

Why your dad didn't go with you Katya?

Great review! :)

Can you post the exact setlist if you remember it..please :) I'm seeing Placebo in 2 days and I'm pretty sure they'll play the same songs . I'm sooo excited :)

The cool thing is that the fans here have already organised 2 separate after parties in 2 night clubs (one in the center of the city and the other just next to the concert venue). I haven't decided which one I'm going to attend but it's cool to have something to choose from :)

Great review Nada, sounds like you had a brilliant time! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

and what a cool dad you have going with you

He wanted but I didn't want to go with him. I was afraid other fans would think I'm a little girl as my parents accompany me :teresa: But I was only 16 then, in 2001, so I was afraid to visit the concert alone and in the end I didn't attend it at all :(

That concert was few days before concert in Macedonia. There they played 18 songs! :o And on the other concerts they played more songs then in Macedonia where they played 15 songs. I don't know what's the reason for that... :(

The problem was that my friends aren't that crazy for Placebo to travel 30 hours, just to see them. And my best friends, who'd go with me if concert was in Serbia, were busy at the school those days, so I had to find other solution. ^_^

Here are the pictures I promised I'll post. ^_^ They maybe aren't anything special, but I like them. :P

First, my two tickets.

I don't know what snazzy actually means, but I guess that's something good.

Yes, the poster is really big and nice. I want it also. :P And there were a lot of smaller ones in the city. Just later I remembered that I could ask somewhere for it, but I didn't... :( I still don't have any Placebo poster.
