could seriously be argued that without the beatles there would be no punk rock nor metal... they were the pioneers of guitar pop and although things went on and developed long after the beatles split, like it or not, every punk and metal band owes a debt of gratitude.

so wether you like the beatles or not, this site needs a beatles forum... its a must for any serious music site... please vote yes! http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40601

For those of you who thought Paul McCartney only wrote Silly Love Songs with Frog Chorus' think again:

THE BEATLES - HELTER SKELTER (1968)

This was before the likes of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath & Deep Purple existed.

Well, Ozzy Osbourne always said that he was a great admirer of John Lennon's music, so I suppose a case could be made for saying The Beatles had a part in influencing Metal... Although, I would argue that Metal is more influenced by The Bluesmen of the southern US States (Sabbath and Zep did a fair few blues covers on their albums, Hendrix was the focal point where blues crossed over into Metal and Hard Rock, and Lennon and McCartney were almost certainly influnced themselves by the blues....)

two main influences on pop and rock were the blues and rock n roll... even going back rock n roll is blues derived anyway.. lennon mccartney were more rock n roll influenced then directly blues, but blues were certainly an influence.
i like the beatles. i met ringo in 2006. Doreen Mantle (T.v's most populer villian ever from the mildly succesfull "One Foot In The Grave".) was in the dressingroom aswell
