February 7, 200817 yr I'm glad of that. It's one thing to lose but another to lose because you can't take part. I would be very happy if Gareth or Suzanne won.
February 7, 200817 yr I felt that Rik chose to go. We'd already heard rumours about the record contract he had. I thought that he had, in fact, got what he wanted. I wasn't sure about Darius coming back as he'd looked so down and drawn so much of the time. It also meant that he'd miss a lot of his degree course. Of course I supported him. I was just worried that he'd be edited to be someone different again. I watched as much as I could and loved his voice even more - and him as a person. I was scared that he'd be made unhappy and the victim of more bullying. I hardly ever stopped worrying for Darius. Now, I don't feel I need to.
February 8, 200817 yr I saw the Cruise? and Rik apeared on that, he came across as a rather lazy person who wasnt particularily nice. then I think he lost the plot, becasue the next time I saw him on TV he had strange long hair, was it corn field braids or something, anyway it was totally out of character ...and a goatee, well that may have suited some but...
February 8, 200817 yr Yes there is Baytree. He's posted a message on the site to say he's well again and raring to go. The training this week has been very intense and he's skating to a Michael Jackson number. Should be good
February 8, 200817 yr Brilliant. I'm glad that Gareth is fine and his confidence hasn't been shaken. I can't see it at the normal time on Sunday. Do you happen to know when the repeats of the shows are, please?

February 8, 200817 yr Thabks, Hasso. Oh well, I guess I can't avoid finding out who goes. I'd guess Steve or Greg. I'll just try not to watch any of the routines through links.
February 8, 200817 yr Yes, its 9.30 Saturday mornings. You'll be able to see the Billy Flynn routine tomorrow.
February 8, 200817 yr I spotted it online yesterday and had to take another look. I don't know who was singing Razzle Dazzle. I wish it had had more punch, but Gareth's routine was fantastic despite that..
February 8, 200817 yr I know this is a Gareth thread but, I just have to say, I bet the 10th anniversay for Chicago was good for Darius. Anyone thinking og casting him could see just how much stage presence he had. See, I knew there was a reason that Gareth had a 'Chicago' song - so that I could end up with that. He looked really good as well. he's becoming a very competent skater and his personality is far more visable now.
February 9, 200817 yr Yes I agree. In the snippets, Gareths natural humour is coming over. When I think back to the documentary which was supposed to relaunch him last time, I get angry. The editing stitched him up just as clearly as editing stitched up Darius in Popstars. I suppose the tenth anniversary of Chicago would have given anyone with a professional interest in Darius the chance to see how he stands out even surrounded by a busy, large group on stage and to see how the audience took to him. Shame he had to share Razzle Dazzle with 2 other Flynns. The summation wouldn't have done him any harm either. Darius's mocking style approach to that is not a lot different from the way Gable does Rhett's 'proposal' to Scarlett/ Mrs Kennedy in the film, although they aren't based on each other. Darius's Billy Flynn was inspired by the fly by night sleazy lawyer in a Billy Bob Thornton film. Edited February 9, 200817 yr by Baytree
February 9, 200817 yr Yes, I have to agree with this. I loved the documentary obviously, but I can see that people who are not avid supporters of Gareth could have got the wrong impression on him on there. Its so good to see him being able to show his whole personality now
February 9, 200817 yr I think whatever happens in DOI now, Gareth will be one of the winners. I hope he's got a good team behind himand they're ready to work with Gareth to drive his career forward however he wants it to go. In music, I'm pretty sure that is, like Darius, writing and performing his own stuff whether it's commercial or not. Darius might be singing other people's stuff in MT just now but he's able to integrate all his skills to entertain people live every night. I just hope he sticks to his determination to continue writing and performing his own stuff alongside that. I don't mind if he does take up some of those film roles when he gets back to America, but I think it's important for him as a singer/songwriter to get his album out. He once said he'd like to write a musical. I wonder if that's something the bookies would give me nice long odds on.
