Well Gareth definitely deserves a nice long refreshing holiday somewhere idyllic, after the effort he's put in for what is it, 7 months or so?

I'm so glad he's keen to return to his music. That's very good news.

I'm thinking that with regard to Darius, despite his good intentions, it would be more of a miracle. He's contracted until September.

We know he'll get absolutely nothing done when he's doing 8 shows a week and Natasha and the 2 boys are over.

I've just read an article about Zoe and West End Rocks and she says she's still in touch with Will and Darius and was following Gareth's progress on DOI.

Isn't it amazing that lasting friendships were forged in such a competitive atmosphere? I really do think the first PI was the most innocent. None of them knew what a massive ratings success it would be or that they would be catapulted into the limelight just by being in the final 10 or in Darius's case, 11.

No one was trying to spouil it for anyone else. That really helps when you are pulling together in something.
I keep wondering how Jessica Garlick is doing. I loved her voice and she seemed such a lovely girl. The last i heard she was in the States planning to release an album. I'd love to buy an album by any Zoe, Hayley, Jessica or Rosie.

Nothing at all Baytree. He's only just finished DOI on Saturday and then there's a wedding to play. Think perhaps he'll be off for a long holiday first. Can't see anything happening this summer to be honest.

He did tell a fan on Saturday, that he'll be back to music as soon as possible though

Does Gareth mean recording new music or doing gigs letting more people hear the tracks they've never really heard from GYOW and Pictures? I'd love Darius to do a concert where he sang his own music but excluded the singles.

I think both of them should just do a small accoustic set. I think it would be appreciated.

I'd like that too. Anything would be appreciated as long as its music of some form. Don't know about Darius, but I don't think we'll get anything more from Gareth, until after his marriage to be honest.

Well, it is important. It's just so hard to wait when you know most people think he's disappeared again - how many weeks after he's finished the ice skating?

Have Gareth and Suzanne announced the date yet, val4jadan?

No, not yet Baytree, but he has implied a few times that it won't be a long engagement and will probably be this year.

Its only been a couple of weeks since DOI finished and we do know Gareth is running a McGuire course in June. He also set up a Facebook page last week and has said that there are lots of projects in the pipeline and that its going to be a very busy year.

Just need to find out what the projects are and pray that they involve music.

Hi everyone, we heard some news of Gareth. He will be in a charity Stiles & Drewe Concert showcasing songs from their new musical 'Soho Cinders'. :cheer:

Who knows he might even be in the actual music too.

Gareth Gates Joins Stiles & Drewe Concert Line-up

Date: 11th June 2008

Gareth Gates (pictured), the runner-up on the first Pop Idol and more recently seen on ITV’s Dancing on Ice, will join a roll call of West End stars for the one-off concert celebrating 25 years of the British musical writing partnership of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. The charity gala, titled A Spoonful of Stiles & Drewe, takes place at the West End’s Her Majesty’s Theatre on Sunday 6 July 2008.

Gates will perform a preview of material from Soho Cinders, the new musical by Stiles & Drewe, whose writing credits include the Olivier Award winning Honk!, Peter Pan, Just So, and the new material in Mary Poppins.
