November 9, 200816 yr I'm hoping that's what people will do - go and see how he does. I'm looking forward to it - I think he'll be great.
November 10, 200816 yr Gareth certainly seems to be getting a lot of publicity lately - this is from the Star on Sunday: 'Gates Open for Judge Role Simon Cowell is after a new male judge for the show - with former Pop Idol Gareth Gates in the running for the job. Gareth, 24, is leading a string of condidates who could replace X Factor judge Dannii Minogue as a judge and mentor, according to show insiders...........Other possibles in the frame include Peter Andre, Lee Ryan from Blue and Lemar. An insider revealed "Like Cheryl Gareth knows all about this sort of show as he was runner-up in the first Pop Idol series in 2002. Gareth has a huge fanbase and has sold more than 3.5 million records. Although he's not recording any more, he knows better than most what competitions like the X Factor are all about....... "It's a genius idea to have a famous young bloke to join the panel next year. Simon's only worry is that the judging panel would have three men and just one woman. If Dannii does end up staying, Louis could end up facing the chop a second time." ' I thought Gareth was planning to release a new album some time soon?! Julie
November 10, 200816 yr So did I. I hope he carries on recording. I don't watch x-factor and I'd much rather hear him sing.
November 10, 200816 yr If, as I believe, Gareth was dropped by his recording company, he may find it very difficult to release a new album.
November 11, 200816 yr A stumbling block in the music industry, as in films, is that so often the standing of the artist relates directly to the success or otherwise of his/her last offering.
November 11, 200816 yr Gareth is well qualified to be a judge on a talent show - he's been there himself, he knows how life changing it is, he knows the pressure of success, the frustration of untapped creativity, he's had good and bad blanket media coverage. He can give advice based on experience. He's also got a great sense of humour, so he'd be OK with gentle ribbing and rivalry between the judges. He'd definitely be able to release an album on the back of it too.
November 11, 200816 yr But Gareth is a nice guy. To be on that panel the judges have to be mean, nasty and downright cruel.
November 11, 200816 yr Up to now. Mind you, I find it hard to find why some of them get through to the interviews

He'd definitely be able to release an album on the back of it too. This rumour has been firmly denied by Gareth's people on his site. I don't think he'd want to release an album off the back of the program even if it was Baytree. He was adamant he wouldn't release anything after DOI so I'm sure he'd still feel the same. The way the knives have been out for Gareth in the past, he'd never hear the last of it if he did. There is apparently an exciting announcement coming soon, so it will be nice to find out what that is. Perhaps it'll be a musical.
November 12, 200816 yr I look forward to hearing it. I hope, in time, he decides to go back to music. It always seemed so much a part of him. The new baby will bring him more pleasure than anything else comes, when it comes.
November 12, 200816 yr I wonder whether they know if it is to be a boy or a girl..........not that they would tell.
November 12, 200816 yr I don't suppose they'll care which. Lots would rather wait. My nursary was pink before my daughter was born and I didn't know the sex but just felt she was female.
November 12, 200816 yr That was taking a bit of a risk, wasn't it? Our nursery was in white and pale shades of yellow to cater for either. Edited November 15, 200816 yr by Bramley
November 12, 200816 yr I was just so sure. If my daughter had been a son, he'd have managed living in a pink room. If my son had been a daughter, she'd have been dressed in blue. I had no doubts about either. I don't think it'd have mattered if I'd been wrong - it wasn't a preference, it was a conviction
November 13, 200816 yr Ooer, could have scarred them for life. Gender bender ! Please have a 'conviction' about D's next move..........if only we could look into the future!
November 13, 200816 yr yes....where's that old crystal ball....give it a rub.... oh...that was a lamp
November 13, 200816 yr I could say all sorts to that - but I'll stay polite. All I know is it should be soon (however long soon can be)
