There is a brilliant interview in the Stage from Gareth, and at the end they show other success stories and Darius is mentioned. I thought you might like to read it.

Thank you. Gareth seems to be getting praise for his singing in 'Cinderella' I can't wait to see it. It's circled in red on out 13yr olds calendar.

Thanks, I wonder if Rhydian will be next although the theatre lot are doing their best to damp him down.

Gareth has always had a beautiful tone to his voice, I think.

IMHO his singing ability was overshadowed in the media by the fluffy teen idol stuff and by some of the song choices picked out for him.

Rhydian is touring next May. Sixteen dates I think. Have just booked for the Manchester one. Sue

I saw the tour advertised, didn't know about the album.

....not my type of singer

Enjoy the gig :)

I think Rhydian has a good voice but for me it's ruined by too much 'technique. I don't think I could listen to a whole album.

It's good to see Gareth getting positive press especially from The Stage because it was a journalist from there who took the announcement of Darius's casting as Billy Flynn as the opportunity to release all of his bile about the casting of household names in the West End and the intrusion of ALW's reality tv into the casting process. So it's somewhat satisfying to read there that Darius has carved out a successful career as an MT performer.

That second article is just as positive. It's good to read something which cheers me up. Not long to go now. I'll forgive them for not mentioning Darius on the grounds that it's about G not D.

Quite rightly.

It's always annoyed me that the media seem to think the 3 guys should be chained together for life just because they took part together in what was such a hugely successful programme, that it generated loads of copycat programmes which have taken over the schedules.

It also annoys me personally that Cowell is being given credit for what the guys have achieved, especially as he spent most of PI trying to not to give Darius any credit and punished him for not signing with him by giving him just one song on the album and a bare 2 songs in the concert like those who were voted out first. Gareth and Darius are both grafters and they've got where they are by sheer talent and hard work.

SC's insistence on including what he liked on the 'Day' CD of Gareth's second album and releasing Say It Isn't So as a single was, in my opinion, grossly detrimental in that it took the attention away from the much better 'Night' CD. I'm sure the majority of the songs on there would have proved very popular if the public had ever got much of a chance to hear them.
