December 9, 200816 yr Thanks so much Megham, and of course people understand if its your grandson/son who goes on stage, so pleased for him. And so pleased you loved it. :cheer:
December 9, 200816 yr Lovely photos, lovely mementoes..........another family memory to treasure. Glad you all enjoyed it. Please can I have the talking dragon from Merlin for Xmas ?
December 9, 200816 yr Thanks for posting up those pictures Megham. They make me even more sad that I have to wait until January to go. How lovely for your young Grandson and bless your 13 year old wanting Gareth. Not that I'm surprised  Heaven is the song I'm most looking forward to hearing Gareth sing
December 9, 200816 yr So glad you had a great time and your grandson looks thrilled. If I'd lived nearer I'd have gone, I do like a panto my dad always took us every Boxing day when we were kids :D
December 9, 200816 yr The kids loved it. My 13yr old no longer goes bright red and giggles. Instead she just looked, said his hair was cool and he was even better than before. It's worth waiting to hear 'Heaven' it is absolutely brilliant. I liked the song before but this was the best version I'd heard of it. You'll be surprised to know that I prefer someone else singing 'Razzle Dazzle'.
December 9, 200816 yr It is - in the Finale - along with a 2nd 'Spirit in the Sky' which went very well indeed.
December 9, 200816 yr Thanks for the photos Meg. It sounds really good. Wish I lived nearer as well. Sue
December 9, 200816 yr It was an old fashioned panto in a lot of ways. Not as slick as some but i very much enjoyed it. (oh no you didn't, Oh yes I did) Plenty of audience participation and i haven't laughed so much in years as I did when buttons got a man from the audience up on stage and used him as his dummy. Great fun.
December 11, 200816 yr Your youngster was lucky to be chosen. Our children went up on stage to sing 'Nellie the Elephant' a good few years ago. But more recently we took our grandchildren to an amateur panto, in a professional theatre. When they invited children up onto the stage, they let ALL the children downstairs go up on stage. And then a long procession wound its way down the centre aisle......all the children from the balcony were led down. Every child in the audience was packed onto the stage. You should have seen their faces. Then they played elimination games to send them off stage a few at a time. I thought that was wonderful. Often so many children are disappointed when they are not chosen to go up.
December 11, 200816 yr We were lucky - they made a bee line for him. He's that kind of child. Big warm smile.
December 22, 200816 yr Not sure whether this is Gareth's Cinderella or another London production, sbout Tom Chambers who has just won Strictly Dancing. Quote;- Chambers danced with cystic fibrosis sufferer Chelsie Jones, 16, during a special performance of Cinderella at London's Piccadilly Theatre. It was Chelsie's life-long dream to dance in the West End and her wish was granted by the Starlight Children's Foundation, a charity which helps seriously and terminally ill youngsters. West End audiences could be seeing a lot more of Chambers, 31, as offers of roles are flooding in following his Strictly victory. Some sources predict that the he will earn £1 million next year - quite a turnaround for a one-time struggling actor who took jobs as a lorry driver and window cleaner to make ends meet Dancing on Ice certainly turned Gareth's career around.
December 23, 200816 yr I think it's Gareth's voice that'll be growing his carreer. I'd love to go and see the panto again. He'd only done it a few times when I went and I'd like to see how he's settled into theatre work now. So much going on, I don't think I'll be able to make it but if I can I'll just pop over and see.
December 23, 200816 yr That's a different production Bramley. Gareth's one is at The New Wimbledon Theatre. Just over two weeks till I get to go see him now. Don't know if any of you saw Gareth last night on Don't Forget The Lyrics on Sky1, but he was hilarious. He managed to win £10,000 for his Charity. It was great hearing him singing on TV again. Happy Christmas to everyone. Its been great chatting with you all this year. Edited December 23, 200816 yr by val4jadan
December 23, 200816 yr And with you. I missed that - it's a bit too busy sometimes to get to watch much at this time of year. Gareth just can't compete with our 13 yr old singing.
