March 10, 200817 yr It was a shame, he went out on his favourate song. He did the solo skating at the start real well, but Zhaara was good on Sunday. And in the skate off Gareth did have a little stumble, but to honest, if he had gone through, he might have upset the apple cart so to speak, and that might have gone against him. We know what people are like, saying he would not have deserved it,others are better skaters and such. Gareth is fine about it, he was on This Morning looking happy, wishing all the finalists well, saying they are great skaters. He will be there on Sunday like all the other contestants too. And he is looking forward to the tour, and will return to music afterwards again in some form or other, lol Wish I knew what he meant by this.
March 11, 200817 yr Bless him. I hope he does release something else, it's such a tough game to be in, he just needs to re-think. I wish him well
March 11, 200817 yr Thanks, Hasso. I'm sure the tour will be fantastic and I'm sure Gareth's fans will be there to let him know how proud they are of him. It's such a pity it's not coming to Scotland at all this year.
March 11, 200817 yr :yahoo: Ive got tickets to see the live tour :yahoo: They have put extra days on at Liverpool so I have got front row tickets. It was a great show last year I cant wait
March 11, 200817 yr He can only have gained in confidence with this. To have become so good with nothing to build on. He'll enjoy the tour and is back in the public eye. I'll look forward to seeing what he does next.

Its obvious the judges wouldn't have wanted an all-male final and I've just read on another site that Chris and Gareth were the top two with the public vote every week so far. Seeing next week is a public vote only and the judges couldn't influence the result there wouldn't have been much doubt who the two finalists would have been. I'm obviously disappointed Gareth didn't get to the final week, but also quite relieved he isn't up against Chris in the final. Not because I wouldn't want him to be there, but because I'm in no doubts as to what would have been said if by any chance he got more votes than Chris and went on to win. We'd have been right back to the sniping again and I can't be doing with that. Gareth is happy enough with what he's achieved so I am too. I'm also very proud not only of the way he performed but of the way he exited the show on Sunday. I true gentleman right to the end  I would have come in to post yesterday, but I couldn't get on the site for some reason
March 11, 200817 yr its not the winning its the taking part, plus gareth is doing the tour - I think they got it right, as I didnt feel Gareth was quite as good as the other 3, Chris and Suzanne are way out front

Maybe this week, but not most of the other weeks. Edited March 11, 200817 yr by val4jadan
March 11, 200817 yr Zaraah is more inconsistent than the others - she could go either way. Dariusdreamer, did you notice if they'd added any Scottish dates when they added the other Liverpool ones? You know how I feel about travel connections to Liverpool. Is Andrew better, now?
March 11, 200817 yr No Scottish dates at all here is the link for tickets http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/artist/95249...alendar_month=4 Andrew is getting better Thanks BT it was a haematoma in his muscle so just hope it has dispersed when we go back.
April 4, 200817 yr I'm not sure if you're supposed to say "Break a leg!" to entertainers other than actors. It's maybe least appropriate for skaters but all very my best wishes to Gareth as he starts on the DOI tour tonight. Hope he has a fantastic time.
April 5, 200817 yr No, but according to glimpses on a local news broadcast, Gareth has to wear those horrible striped trousers on the tour. There'd be a case for accidentally losing those, I'd say.
April 7, 200817 yr I wonder what routines Gareth's doing and if they're the same ones each show night or if they change them around. I would have tried to go to the DOI tour if they'd had a leg in Glasgow or Edinburgh.
April 7, 200817 yr Gareth only has to wear `those' trousers for the group routine. He's doing two routines. `Livin On A Prayer', for the first half of the show which is being voted for by the public and for the second half he's doing `I Get Around' but wearing the Red outfits rather than the stripey ones. He's been in fourth place for most performances so far I think. They all get to come onto the ice in Bolero costumes just before the final dances. He looks gorgeous in his one  Can't wait to go next week.
April 7, 200817 yr I know exactly how you feel. I'm champing at the bit to go to GWTW and I'm so ridiculously excited about the prospects of seeing Darius perform again. Is there any tour footage online anywhere, val4jadan?
April 7, 200817 yr There are a few clips on YouTube, but they aren't very good quality. Taken on Mobile phones I think. You can see how well he performed though even if its not very clear. It appears they're skating a lot quicker on the larger rink. I think Gareth is only one of a few who hasn't had a fall on tour yet. Apparently Kyran has fallen on all but one of the performances. Here are a few of the clips Edited April 7, 200817 yr by val4jadan
April 8, 200817 yr Thanks, val4jadan. Isn't it great that Gareth is doing so well on the tour? The quality of the last clip isn't wonderful but you can still see the routine. My monitor isn't very good and Living On A Prayer was very white - at times I could barely make out Gareth and Maria but they did seem to be skating faster than I remember from the show. I hope you have a fantastic time when you go. Are you hoping to see Gareth when he arrives or after the show?
