The band's name is changed to Johnny and the Moondogs as they audition for Carroll Levis' `TV Star Search' show in Liverpool. Ken Brown has left the group. They perform `Think It Over' and `Rave on' but lose to a woman who plays the spoons.

Brian promises to find it, a matter of pride for him more than the sale itself. The Beatles perform in the evening at the Aintree Institute in Aintree, Liverpool.

1st ever concert at the Liverpool Empire Theatre, as principal support act for Little Richard, along with Craig Douglas, Jet Harris, Kenny Lynch, Sounds Incorporated. Hours before, on the phone, Brian arranges a show with promoter Arthur Howes for 2 December, birth of the future Epstein-Howes concert promotions team.
