A fifth-wheel trailer hauling motorcyles belonging to world-famous stunt rider Carey Hart burned Tuesday night, closing I-15 [salt Lake City, Utah].

Fire officials say at about 6:45 p.m., an unexplained fire spread through trailer, which then exploded as the truck and trailer was headed northbound on 1500 South and I-15, closing the freeway for more than an hour.

The trailer contained motorcyles belongng to Carey Hart, well-known stunt motorcyle rider and husband pop star Pink.

Hart or his wife were not travelling with the truck or trailer, and no one was hurt.

The truck and trailer were enroute to Tooele where Hart was scheduled to perform in a show at the Miller Sports Park.

All the motorcyles, valued at several thousand dollars, were lost in the fire.

Hart's racing team later released the following statement:

"It's an unfortunate situation, the main thing is that no one was hurt, the cause of the fire is still under investigation the vehicle was insured in total 9 bikes were destroyed, the team is trying to move forward to get bikes to compete in this weekend's event."
