July 7, 200718 yr I wish there was a crimes against journalism enforcing body. I could name a few I'd like to see dealt with - that guy who makes up engagements and marriages for Darius, Billy Sloan who calls himself a music journalist, Victoria Newton for publishing unchecked anecdotes and rumours as fact.......I can't think of any more but I will no doubt.
July 7, 200718 yr The trouble is, journalism has become another name for fiction writers. I just wish people wouldn't believe that if it's in a 'news' paper, it must be true.
July 7, 200718 yr Thanks Meg.....we'd gone off on a tangent and you'd brought us back  ...I'm impressed
July 9, 200718 yr ...and I don't need satnav. Other destinations I can memorise the route, take a map, do a dry run and I still can't get there. Destination Darius is the exception.
July 10, 200718 yr I think that that is the norm here. I did get completely lost going to The Miners Club. Everytime I asked directions, they sent me a different way.
July 10, 200718 yr To be fair it was very out of the way and had been specifically chosen because it was, and not at all the place that one would expect to see Darius. I don't think Bathgate Amateur Opera Society were expecting a cross border foray. I don't think the locals were being unkind sending you in different directions. There are several different approaches to the village and I accidentally came back by a very different route from the one I took, which itself differed from the dry run I'd done. July 10, 200718 yr I didn't think they were being unkind. They were using local knowledge to tell me their preffered route. Un fortunately, my ignorance made it very difficult to floolw the instructions.
July 10, 200718 yr If you're not worried about never finding the place and missing what you were going for.
July 10, 200718 yr Did you get there on time ? As usual my timing was just slightly off. I just missed Darius.
