Posted June 21, 200718 yr http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f0/The_Bourne_Ultimatum_One-Sheet.jpg So do you think this will be the last film outing for Jason Bourne? or do you think The Bourne Legacy and The Bourne Betrayal should be greenlit a speedy follow up as well? should this be the last Bourne Film???
June 21, 200718 yr I liked the first 2, no fancy gimmicks like the Bond movies hope this is as good. Not sure if they should make any more, depends on how successful this one will be.
June 22, 200718 yr This is meant to be the last of the 3 part triology, but there are two more movies planned for the Legacy and Betrayal not sure if Matt Damon will carry on with the role, the first two are excellent
June 22, 200718 yr Author This is meant to be the last of the 3 part triology, but there are two more movies planned for the Legacy and Betrayal not sure if Matt Damon will carry on with the role, the first two are excellent well not planned for now, most probs options held, but the novels are there and you know what hollywood propety is like (however different novelist as the dude who did the first 3 died in 2001 - Robert Ludlum)
June 23, 200718 yr One of the best trilogy's out there in my opinion. Would love to see a number 4 but I doubt it.
June 24, 200718 yr I've really liked the first two Bourne films tbh.... Partly because the edginess and the more 'real' sense of drama that they had injected a sense of urgency into the producers of James Bond to up the ante with their franchise... Can anyone honestly say that without the Bourne films, we would've had the spectacular, far more adult Bond fare of "Casino Royale"...? Personally, I feel the first two excellent Bourne films rather stole a hell of lot of Bond's thunder....
June 24, 200718 yr I really wanna see this, the first 2 were excellent, and i'm expecting more of the same from this. ^_^
August 5, 200717 yr Can't wait to see this. It has got excellent reviews, an amazing 94% appoval ratings on rottentomatoes, and 97% average ratings, many sayings how it is by far the best of the three :cheer:
August 16, 200717 yr Wow, excellent movie back from seeing it, if you like the first 2 you will like this, it ties all three movies up, you won't be disappointed, its all action from the very beginning. I don't think the follow-up 2 books (Legacy & Betrayal) will get filmed, as Ultimatum just ties everything up. Matt Damon will be playing Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek movie planned for next year, with Anthony Quinton (Sylar from Heroes as Spock).
August 17, 200717 yr Outstanding movie Replaces Die Hard 4 as the best film I have seen this year and I never thought anything would top that Would recommend it to anyone
August 17, 200717 yr I vehemently criticised the use of "shaky-cam" in the Transformers flick, and I still stand by that because 'documentary-style realism' does not sit well with what is basically a kid's action film... Here, it works, and it works astoundingly well... Probably because Paul Greengrass is a PROPER FILM-MAKER and not a lousy hack like Michael Bay, and with his background in making documentaries actually knows how to use the technique effectively... Greengrass was the director responsible for the absolutely astonishing, sparse, ultra-realistic "United 93" (which absolutely sh!ts on Oliver Stone's bloated, worthless, incredibly disappointing "World Trade Centre"...), Bay couldn't direct a film like "United 93" if he tried for a thousand years... So, yeah, I have no probs with "shaky-cam" in this film because it is being used in a proper context, to create a feeling of disorientation and confusion, and a sense of "realism" rather than just attempting to "look cool" and failing miserably... Also, the fact that "Bourne Ultimatum" being the film that it is (a grown up, adult "Spy Thriller") lends itself to this technique far more readily than a production line "action-flick-by-the-numbers". "Bourne Ultimatum" is frankly a bloody astounding piece of cinema... By a fukkin' MILE the best film of the Summer, and probably the best mainstream piece of cinema that will be released this year.. I said that I felt the first two Bourne films upped the ante as far as Spy Thrillers went and was responsible for the James Bond producers to re-assess their whole direction and that's pretty much why we got the excellent "Casino Royale".. Well, "...Ultimatum" probably ups the ante even MORE... This is certainly no disappointing "threequel", if anything, this is perhaps the strongest film of the three... The Bourne Trilogy has been both fantasically thrilling and intelligent... Cant wait to see how the Bond producers respond to this one... ;) Just WHY cant we have more films in the mainstream of this quality...? Oh, and if you ever get the fancy, read Robert Ludlum's fantastic books.... 10/10

But this 3 part Bourne story had me hooked from the start, and the action in all 3 movies have been amazing, you won't find a 3 part film series as good as the Bourne films. For anyone that has not seen the first 2, my advice is to rent them out first before seeing the Ulimatum, better still buy them, they are probably cheap, and you have great entertainment value.
August 17, 200717 yr I could'nt agree more with the above posts. I just got back from it, and it was by a fukkin mile the best film I've been this year, and the best action thriller I've seen in a very long time. From the very first scene to the very last I was hooked and on the edge of my seat. The story was just brilliant,.Paul Greengrass did a truely wonderful job in directing this, the guy needs to do more films, he has done so few. This has to be one of the finest trilogys ever, and one of the rare occasions when the sequals are better than the original. The action scenes in this was so impressive and so fast, especially the fight in that room in Morocco, the speed was like I've never seen before

August 22, 200717 yr I loved Bourne: Ultimatum as most of you did. Best mainstream movie of the so far. I can't see which can actually top this. I'm pretty sure there will be a fourth and fifth part to the series, seeing how well it's doing in the box office charts it's just innevitable (that's all that matter for the movie companies). Not sure Matt Damon would agree to take part in the next movies though...
August 22, 200717 yr I saw this earlier today and it's without a doubt the best film of the year. It's action packed from start to finish and it keeps your gripped throughou whole the whole, and some of the stunts aswell. :o It's easily the best out of the 3 films too. ^_^
August 23, 200717 yr The sequence in Waterloo station was frankly just amazing.. So simple, yet so unbelievably effective, my pulse was just racing during that whole thing (well, I suppose having a bit of familiarity with the actual place itself helped in that too..).. Proof that dont need CGI to create a damn good action sequence... As far as I'm concerned the action sequences in the Bourne films are far better than most of the stuff in films like "Die Hard 4" or "Transformers" because they're actually real stunts, real driving and pretty damn convincingly choreographed fights as well, filmed and edited so well that you almost feel the punches and kicks... There's a sense of realism to the Bourne films which put them on entirely another level to the typical tired, old hackneyed Hollywood 'action film'....
August 23, 200717 yr Saw the second one on ITV2 the other night and this series is much better than Modern James Bond imo, ill wait for this to be on TV.
August 23, 200717 yr Just back from the pictures after seeing it. I thought it was :yahoo: :cheer: :yahoo: :cheer: :yahoo: :cheer: :yahoo: That camerawork sure makes you dizzy though.
August 26, 200717 yr Author I loved Bourne: Ultimatum as most of you did. Best mainstream movie of the year so far. strange how you stated it was like 'the best mainstream movie of the year' so far just because its on so many screens per territory rather than just 'best movie of the year' like you are waiting for some foreign language title to get top honnors  i suppose its hard to actually decide how 'mainsteam' a movie is and how 'indie' it is (and its not just about Paddy Considine and Daniel Brühl turning up for a bit  ) and what influence the studio actually has over the creatives. Esp seeing as every major studio has its genre labels and indie arms, and some true indie films and foreign language film are so totally 'mainstream' in view and actually popcorn 'low art' I'm pretty sure there will be a fourth and fifth part to the series, seeing how well it's doing in the box office charts it's just innevitable (that's all that matter for the movie companies). Not sure Matt Damon would agree to take part in the next movies though... well recasting didnt stop Bond did it now and seeing that Ludlum died and the series was taken over, i see a couple of potential dtv pics here. http://www.tjc.edu.sg/inspirations/nov2006/legacy.jpg http://www.booksamillion.com/bam/covers/0/44/658/037/0446580376.jpg
