So has Celine Dion - and her voice sounds like chalk being scraped (slowly) down a blackboard.

 

I hate Carey's voice with a passion - it's all fake histrionics but hardly any actual passion or emotion. She sings her songs with about as much insight and genuine emotion as if she was reading the phone book.

Everyone has their own opinions. It just shows how amazing these women are then to sell so much without being able to sing doesn't it! I can see what you mean about the emotion from Mariah though, she only shows emotion in like 2 songs of her whole catalogue.

however heather small is worse... tbh i dont think mariah is the worst singer, but the most annoying ... i cant abide all that warbling, yodeling even...

maybe its because American entertainment industry doesnt do negativity its like 'everyones so cool and can be given redemption to an extent if they make dodgy record/bad career move' not like in the UK. Brits seem to be a more cynical consumer.

OK I'm not a fan or anything but Mariah is far from being the worst singer. She may not has the nicest personality, she may prefer to whisper instead of sinf in her latest stuff... but she has a quality voice. It's just that she's too lazy to use it lately.. or may she thinks it's sexier to whisper.. I don't know.

I disagree - That honour should go to Beyonce (can't sing a note in tune - not that there's much of a tune in any of her songs)

Mariah was a great singer before she jumped on the R&B bandwagon.

Even my friends who hate Mariah's style of music, admit that she has a phenominal voice. It's pure ignorance to claim that because you don't particularly like someone, they aren't talented.
