British Boyband Take That are seeing their latest single "I'd wait for life" flopping out of UK Top 3 entry for the first time since 1992. It's almost 15 years since a Take That single fails to reach a Top 3 entry. Last single "Shine" was their 6th consecutive UK No.1 and with another Uk No.1 they would equalise Westlife record of most consecutive No.1's (7). However Take That single surprisingly is fighting for just a Top 20 entry this week. With this new chart rules the next boyband who's expected to flop out of the Top 5 for the first time in their career is Westlife with their new single coming out by the end of the year.

I think the Take That retro bubble has burst. They aren't being aimed at single buying kids and the only reason 'Shine' was such a big hit was cos it was catchy as hell and received lots of radio play. This one has the odds stacked against it.
It was doomed since the beginning. Terrible song, after a massive album it was bound to flop. The idiots should have released Reach Out
What's their new cover called Charis, any idea?

100% truth, god only knows what they were thinking releasing 'I'd Wait For Life' as the third single. <_<

Hm Don't be surprised to see westlife releasing, have u ever been in love by celine dion, amazed by lonestar or... can u think of anything other?

Well the reason why i so much dislike Pestlife is becouse they always cheated : moved release dates, cancelled it and stuff like that. Take That otherwise seem pretty confident- doing absolutely NOTHING to promote the single, they are not too bothered at all. They are doing Diana's gig next week though.Who knows, maybe it will help the single and the album sales to rise again. I am pretty sure the album will reach 2 mil mark in the near future. None of Pestlife's album did the same by the way.

Who cares? Take That are still the legends and sales-wise and popularity-wise they are by miles ahead of Westlife and other creepy and shameful bands like that.

It was a waste of time releasing I'd Wait for Life.

I think they could have got another number one with the right song, with promotion and after the Princess Di concert.

The thing about Take That's comeback is that people who were once ashamed to say they like Take That were willing to say they liked them. That could all change if they aren't careful.

May Gary Barlow's solo career be a lesson to them. 2 number one singles, a number one album, next thing after releasing mediocre middle-of-the-road songs he has been effectively banned from radio for being boring and Woolworths would not even stock his second album.

Take That shouldn't take anything for granted.

At the end of the day - if the sales of IWFL really did matter to Take That themselves - I think they would have done some promotion for it. I'm even more convinced of this as seeing the song do so badly - its not too late to turn things around by doing some last minute promo - but they seem content to carry on with a well deserved break and have it top 20'ish - and I honestly don't blame them. We'll have to see how good Reach Out does in Germany and Italy before all those naysayers (and probably people who aren't too fond of Gary anyway) here say that it should have been the third single release in the UK. The guys in the band have all said in interviews they see Take That now as an enjoyable hobby - and it really is. Mark is allegedly going to be releasing a solo album very soon - so if this proves to be true - Take That will be put even further on the back burner. They'll do the autumn/winter tour and then I'm sure they'll call it a day - and leave us with some great memories.

On the other hand they could choose to do what Westlife do and release ten back-to-back - surefire covers that every granny in the land loves (and so do her 12 year old grandchildren). I thinks I'd rather have the dignified and mature Take That! I think I'd rather have a top 20 'flop' which was all my own work than a number one for five minutes with a sh*te cover song - which Westlife seem to be perfectly happy to do (those guys really have no self-respect).

do u say they don't do promotion for a good thing? Promotion = Hard work

No - I'm saying they're taking a well-deserved break. Maybe you're right

Promotion = Hard Work

But that still leaves

Westlife = Tosh!
