Char1s - I honestly thought you were just joking with your constant support of Westlife, to quote Andy Millman's character in Extra's "You're 'avin a larf". However - I've just seen your list of top ten pop bands ever. I'm afraid anyone who has Westlife at number one and A1 at number 3 needs some serious help!

It's hardly a flop - number 17 is an entry position, it will go up next week. I think it has done well considering it wasn't the best choice of single and had no promotion or airplay, and of course the new chart rules haven't helped either. I doubt whether Take That will be too upset, their Ultimate Collection has gone back into the album chart at number 9, and Beautiful World is at number 34, pretty impressive for an album that came out before Christmas.

It will be interesting to see how well the next Westlife single fares under the new chart rules. I doubt if they'll be continuing their run either.

And also the second highest new entry of the week. I think if it goes up next week - it won't be by that much - but hopefully after the Diana do, it'll go even higher. Although I think that 17 is quite a decent charting for a third track, I find it a bit ominous that that was exactly the number that Rob & PSB went in at with She's Madonna - and as much as I'm not a Rob fan - I expected that particular song to go up a bit further than it did - and it went totally in the opposite direction. Could it be fate that TT do the exactly same with their third single?

Westlife's 3rd track last year was No.4..

Btw I don't think Westlife's Top 5 run will stop with the next single. I think in the next few singles it wil stop. However they have the record and head for the most consecutive Top 10 record which is 34.

I am looking forward for the release of ' Rule The World' (the soundtrack of 'Stardust'). I somehow have got a feeling it's going to be massive all over the world.

The Ultimate Collection which was released 1,5 years ago being at # 9 is an incredible achievement! Bw is doing not so bad either . Take That truly are unique, are'nt they?

Cant wait til Diana's gig. Hope they will give us some unexpected suprises during their set!

Who cares about peak positions anyway? What matters at the end of the day is the sales, and Take That's most recent album and two #1s have sold shedloads more than Westlife's most recent attempts.

To put it bluntly, the only reason Westlife are still going is because they release songs people already like. Take That have released an album of entirely new tracks and still SOLD (after all, that's what's important) loads more than Westlife have recently!

yes the album has sold so well and more than any west;ife album also

Anyone know what the total world wide sales are I know the UK sales are around 1.7 m

Coast To Coast sold 1.8....

And btw Westlife released many original albums.... Don't forget face to face (included covers but most songs were original) was one of their highest selling, selling more than The Love Album which was full of covers. Even of Westlife release now an album full of covers it will sell a million at least.

Westlife sold in 7 years the amount Take That managed to sell in a few months!

LMAO! Feck off, Charis.

Yes, Take That may have flopped with this single but they will be back I'm sure with another number one at some point. The album has done amazingly well and it wasn't the best choice of single. Also, lack of airplay and the fact that people won't be downloading the song if they have already bought the album. 3rd and 4th single releases from albums are particularly unlikely to chart as high due if albums have sold well due to the new chart rules of including downloads in the charts.

On a brighter note, Take That would have entered at no5 on physicals alone which is a respectful position and it would have equalled westlife's lowest charting single to date.

The argument about westlife vs take that is really about credibility. Take That write and produce their own songs and release original songs..westlife do cover version after cover version.
