The uncertainty over the paternity of Melanie Brown's two-month-old baby has been ended by a DNA test confirming Eddie Murphy as the father.

 

The former Spice Girl gave birth to the child in April, choosing to identify Murphy as the father on the birth certificate. However, the Beverly Hills Cop actor refused to accept this unless a DNA test proved it to be the case.

 

Brown reportedly heard of the positive result on Thursday. A friend told More: "It is such a relief that this is finally over. Mel has known all along that Eddie is the father and can’t believe it has taken a paternity test to prove it.

 

"She is delighted the truth is out there now and she can get back to concentrating on being a mum."
