And I agree, 2D is certainly NOT a dead form as far as animated features go, I really like the way a lot of Japanese Anime films use both 2D and 3D, 3D being used mainly for the backgrounds and actual mise-en scene , and 2D being used mainly for foregrounds and the characters.. Makes for a very interesting effect IMO... Mind you, Japanese Anime films such as "Appleseed", "Ghost In The Shell", etc absolutely pish all over Disney and Pixar for the most part anyway let's face it....

I agree. And computer generated images don't also have to necessarily be 3D. Beauty and the Beast was widely publicized as the first film to use the assistance of computer animation in the background of several scenes, most notably the whirling background of the interior of the castle as they danced. The result was dramatic and successful.

i hardly watch the straight to dvd ones ;) the originals are always the best :D

I've always hated sequels of the original film, and I'm glad they have stopped, the original Jungle Book is a masterpiece and timeless, why on earth they did a second one was beyond me.

The new Pixar movie that is due out later in the year looks a bit dated, and Toy Story 3 is scheduled for 2009, it seems Disney are concentrating on CGI movies more than animated now, as Home On The Range was the last ever animated Disney movie, I think animation works better than CGI in my opinion.

Why can't the little mermaid 3 go to cinema :(

I AGREE :(

I would SOOOO go and see it, I guess I will have to buy :drama:
