I thought I'd start a thread for news about some people who've been in MT casts with Darius.

and whose performances many of us have enjoyed and would like to see again.

 

Although casting hasn't been announced yet, expect to see Stephen Webb (Benny Southstreet in G & D) in the Donmar's Parade in September of this year.

 

The official cast for a new revival of Carmen Jones has been announced and it includes Brenda ( Mama Morton in Chicago). She's been doing a few singing gigs since she left Chicago. Atm I think she's doing a mini-cruise with other X Factor people.

This could be so good for her. IMHO she could be a major star in MT.

Here are some details about Carmen Jones. I'm afraid I don't remember much about the story of Carmen so I don't know how significant a part Pearl is, but it's great to see Brenda getting another role so quickly.

Someone on WOS has now caught up with the casting of Stephen Webb in Parade.

 

He'll play Ivey and Luther Rosser.

Not MT person but Michelle McManus is doing some acting. She has a role coming up in a very popular Scottish comedy series called Still Game.

 

Yesterday I also read she is to play Mary in a "disco" version of the nativity called Discotivity, which will go to the West End at Christmas. I can only hope it's a hoax, but it was published in the Evening Times, which although tabloid sized does not usually indulge in traditonal tabloid journalism or celebrity watching.

The lad who was 4th or 5th in the Joseph program is playing Joseph in the touring version.

It is Craig Chalmers I wasn't keen on him.

I quite liked Craig...felt he had a lot more to offer.

 

It was Lewis I had problems with.

I have discovered I have a video of Andrew lloyd webbers songs from the musicals which I hadnt watched so today I did. I can tell you one thing you dont have to be able to sing to play Joseph. It featured both Jason donovan and Philip schofield (SINGING) from Joseph and its pretty weak.. The key appears to have been changed in parts so they can reach a note and it seemed again so pedestrian with no light and shade, Craig chambers will be following that trend I feel as I dont think his voice is great and Bill kenwright appears to go for blonde josephs, the last four times it appeared in devon, they were all blonde.

I saw Philip Schofield as Joseph....I really enjoyed the show....his singing was fine, can't remember thinking there was a problem with it.

Apparently Chris B, for those who watched ADWD and have a clue who he is, is going to play Benjamin on the tour and play Joseph at some shows. That means that people booking for the tour may get him and not Craig Chalmers. I suppose they'll tell people when they book which shows each one is doing.
