So have Maximo Park already slipped into that section of bands and acts that nobody gives a damn about but there fans??? seeing how much they've dropped in the second week its like Franz, DM, Ash and Moz's releases and that they might not X-over into the mainstream again???

They're that sort of band though, and they're not on a major label so downloads let them down. They're a band that their fans care about but the mian idea of their singles is to promote the album and all the fans just buy the single for the B-sides and everything.

They've never been huge anyway on the scale that some of those others acts you mentioned.

They had one top ten single that fell quickly and only got there as it was their comeback. If you look at the run of the current single, it's more or less the same as all the singles from their first album anyway...

but man after one of the singles of the year (OV) you thought they would be able to keep the momentum and go on an upwards curve. this could be another top 20 2 weeker you know

Warp might not be a major but surely they've got their download availability in order. Maximo Park just aren't very good that's all, and they appeal to transient fans who are currently waiting for the next big indie thing to happen.

so another fireworks act.

They've never been big, but they're climbing up the ladder, that's all that matters- it's the albums that need to sell and that's what's happening.

The thing I find weird is that they made it big off the back of sounding a bit like and coming from the same part of the world as the Futureheads. Now the Futureheads are label-less, seemingly lost and Maximo Park are still selling well.
