I'm listening to Mercury Rising on his myspace. It never fails to stir me.

 

I've never felt any real connection with Save Me because it's not a Darius song. I'm not saying it isn't a good song just that that's all it is to me - a nice song, sung well.

I found my PI Big Band album so I'm giving it a spin. I've got the first 3 tracks on repeat now

 

Will - Beyond The Sea, Zoe- Get Happy and of course, Darius's one and only track on the album - outrageous considering Zoe had 2 solo songs and a duet with Gareth - SC's little slapdown of this and reduced tour stage time, a little boy stamping his feet because someone refused to play the game his way.

it would be interesting to know just exactly what went on there!!

I know Darius got a higher fee for the PI finalists for the tour, wonder if this was the punishment for doing that! or if indeed darius was the one who insisted on doing the minimum required to fulfill his contract???? I would love to know all the back room stuff that went on!

We'll never know.

 

Although what Darius did reveal in Sink and Swim about the behind the scenes was disturbing enough, IMHO it was just the tip of the iceberg. I suspect he had to rein in because he was still managed by S F and the two were still partners and friends when the book was written.

 

Would Darius have had the clout to refuse to do more than his final 10 contract committed him to?
