With regard to the US, I think it might be Darius himself who's the block, not his management. From the moment he first went to LA, long before he met Natasha, until now Darius has always been absolutely adamant that he had no interest in starting a career in the US. I hated Pete Waterman dubbing him self-destructive but sometimes I can almost see his point of view.

Yet still before Darius started in Guys and Dolls, in an article about one of the Josephs in the Scotsman on June 9th,the journalist referred to Darius as the fame hungry Pop Idol finalist. That's the impression the GBP are forever getting of a man who is anything but. I have to say the Scotsman certainly changed its tune when they had seen D in G&D.

He'd rather enjoy his life and the things that matter to him than get worried about the bitchy attitudes the media have at the moment. I feel he'll come out Ok because of the values he puts on things. He has always said that he doesn't need to be rich and mega famous. He just wants enough success to enable him to continue writing and singing and to support his family. Those are the things that matter to him.
Thanks Meg, from what you say we are not likely to see him as James Bond then!!!! mores the pity.

He got to sing the whole song live on This Morning.

Duncan James is having a press night on Monday. Why wasn't Darius accorded a press night when he took over as the youngest Billy Flynn ever? There wasn't one national or even London paper review of Chicago for any of the 121 shows he did! It is that kind of straight comparison which rankles. It might not bother Darius, but I think he's being deliberately ill done to on far too regular a basis.

Of course it could be that Duncan's run needs the publicity more and the producers didn't feel the need to have a press night to get enough bums on seats for Darius's run but it would have been nice to see a bunch of good reviews like those for G&D.

Actually I didn't think it was all that good on first hearing. I'll need to listen again. I don't think I heard much of an American accent.

I've just watched Darius on .net and that is very, very good.

I wonder if they are still having trouble selling seats? I heard earlier that even his opening night wasn't selling well.

At least with the new system on WOS, he'll be protected from those who are dead set on seeing the show close or want to stop him being seen to be a success in MT.
He seems too boyish for Billy Flynn. It's hard to believe he's nearly 30. I thought he was better than a lot but, I don't really feel like going to see him. I don't know what I want to see next.

Have you seen Wicked? It always seems to get very good reviews from theatregoers.

Are you interested in Lord Of The Rings. It's supposed to have spectacular sets and although the critics give it mixed reviews, the public again seem to like it.

Kismet is getting very poor reviews.

I thought Duncan seemed very young but wasn't going to say as that makes Darius seem old

If I could get a cheap front row seat I might go see how he does

I know that I'm going to see Joseph with Pam if I can get us seats. I'm glad I've seen Wicked. The first time I had a side seat and couldn't see some of the stage. I thought I was missing a lot. The second time, I had central seats and found out I hadn't missed much at all. Idina made the show and I don't feel tempted to go back. If you're planning to go, DON'T READ THE BOOK FIRST.

I'll let 'Lord of the Rings' settle and then I really would like to see that one.

It's a lot of book to put into a stage show. Still, I'd like to see what they've done. Now, Darius could be Aragorn.
