July 24, 200717 yr I don't often post in other forums as I feel unwelcome. I posted thanks in that one - and it has to be moderated first. It will be really useful, I'll have to reorganise to get a tape deck anywhere near my pc but, I have loads of old tapes I'd like to keep.
July 24, 200717 yr Author If I could follow all those instructions properly the first thing I'd like to transfer is the live version of Under My Skin.
July 24, 200717 yr Author I chucked a load of recorded blank tapes out when I did my spring clean this year. The others are buried somehwere. Under My Skin is with my Darius CDs Edited July 24, 200717 yr by Baytree
July 25, 200717 yr Author Believe it or not I've still got a Walkman in the house. It's my son's. He did a massive clear out of his stuff when he was here earlier this year but the Walkman went back into the drawer.
July 25, 200717 yr Author I used to have a voice activated Walkman style cassette recorder. I loved it because you could use normal cassettes. It was the best personal organiser I ever had, much better than any of those electronic ones you type into or my filofax. Sadly during a Spring clean I threw it out thinking it was my father's old one. It wasn't until I next came across the latter, that I realised my mistake.
July 25, 200717 yr I tried a tape in my CD player(it has a tape part) the other week - to try to record the demo songs off the PC..and it ate it! I think it is about time we did away with tapes..the amount of times that has happened! I havent dared play my tapes of Daiurs, under my skin..for a very long time in case they got chewed
July 25, 200717 yr Author Recordable video tapes could be every bit as bad but in all honesty I think I've lost more mp3s than tapes or videos and that's why I prefer any physical form to downloads. With a decent record player, I'd go back to 45s.
July 25, 200717 yr Author Last night in his programme, James May was pointing out a distinct disadvantage of CDs to 45s - you can't play them at the wrong speed for fun! Which D song would you have been tempted to have fun with, slowed down or speeded up, if it had been out on vinyl?
July 25, 200717 yr I'd have to make sure I had plenty of copies incase they were damaged. I'd perhaps speed up Betterman...but not to Pinky and Perky ..and definately fast speed I would die for you....the quicker the better
July 27, 200717 yr Author It's hard enough as it is but we could change it so instead of naming a song you'd have to give another lyrical phrase beginning with the last letter of the previous one Feeling Blue Eleven days She's got a blind smile and a soft touch How can I sleep tonight Obviously we wouldn't need to embolden or underline. I just did that to suggest a chain. I'd call the thread Nothing Unchained (How Do You Like It?) Edited July 27, 200717 yr by Baytree
